Couple getaway

The room was nice and clean and spacious. Although bed slightly too soft. Very good location with nice craft beer pub right hand side of hotel and nice chippy on left hand side. This is important to know as you might be hungry-the hotel breakfast was not very good. I ordered the continental which meant basically toast and cereal! And the cooked breakfast was not appetising and sausages dreadful. They were also quite rude about telling us to make sure we did not share our breakfast as we were ordering two types! The other problem was the noise in the hotel. The house from the street and early traffic was loud in the evenings a d early morning followed by room service really early in the morning with loud talking and slamming doors. It was as if they were deliberately trying to wake us up so they could clean our rooms. Quite inconsiderate when you have do not disturb on your door! It's s shame as the hotel was nice but these things happened every day and ruined the experience!

Amazing!!

We booked a room for four of us which had two single and a double bed. For the price we thought the hotel may just be an average joe however we were very quickly proven wrong! The staff are excellent the food in the restaurant and for breakfast was amazing and the room couldn't have been any cleaner! Would highly recommend to people of all ages and will definitely be back!!

Perfect stay.

Could not recommend this hotel any more, it was perfect :) We were able to check in to our room at 9am, with a complimentary upgrade to a premier room which was absolutely gorgeous, the most comfy king size bed! Access to premier lounge so we were able to get free hot drinks and water throughout the day. Complimentary prosecco with our meal in the restaurant. Brilliant continental, and my partner really enjoyed the full irish breakfast. Lovely staff, very very helpful at all times. Restaurant with the beer garden was fantastic and not too expensive like some of the restaurants in Dublin. Central, close to the Luas (tram), buses, trains - also a short walk to centre with lots of bars, shops, restaurants on the way! Beautifully decorated, everywhere you go its wonderful to look at. Of course very clean too. All this may I add, with a brilliant price! This hotel made our stay absolutely amazing, I couldn't recommend it more and I don't have a bad word to say about it. Thank you North Star, when I come to Dublin I know where I'll be coming :)

Couple's Tour of Ireland

The North Star Hotel was the first and last stop of our Ireland Vacation. We absolutely love the hotel. This was actually our second trip to Ireland and the second time we stayed at the North Star. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. We showed up in the morning after an overnight flight and were given a room right away. The free wifi is a major plus and it works well given the size of the hotel. We never ate at the restaurant but we enjoyed grabbing a nightcap at the bar and enjoying it in the beer garden out back. Location-wise, the North Star is right near the tram and bus stations which makes it easy to get to the city center, airport, or anywhere else in Ireland you might be traveling to. For anyone who likes a bit of exercise it's a pretty easy walk into the city center as well!

OK, could be worse

It's a nice enough hotel, but I think we could have done better for the price in both location and quality. The rooms are nice enough- the AC worked fine and the bed was perfectly comfortable. The continental breakfast on the 7th floor was included in the price of a premier room, but it was either completely picked over or closed for a conference every day. There was actually a day where they had a conference and didn't bother to put signs up- needless to say it was both embarrassing and annoying to be escorted out mid-breakfast. We were then told we could go to the normal cafeteria in the basement- but were only allowed to take the cold food. Really? You kick us out of the continental breakfast that is supposedly included in our room and won't even comp us the extra 3 euro? Give me a break. The room service we ordered was OK quality but overpriced. The bathroom was clean and the shower water pressure was great, but there was no ventilation or ceiling fan and it would turn into a steam room within seconds of turning on the shower. They only give you two towels and two washcloths per day for the king size room which is a little silly in my opinion. The wifi is free but the connection was lousy in our room- I could barely check my emails on the trip. Location is close to the luas red stop, but overall its out of the way and in a seedier part of the city. We had several cab drivers tell us it was not safe to walk around at night. It could have been much worse- it's quiet, we did feel safe once inside, the staff was friendly, and there is a nice bar attached, but I will look elsewhere if I return to Dublin.
