Treated stranded passengers very well
Many people were recently stranded in Dublin due to the volcano eruption. The Mespil Hotel handled everyone very nicely. Staff unfailingly helpful. My room was fine as well - spacious and cheerful.

Short walk from hotel
I didn't have bkfast at the hotel. But lots of nearby take-out places and restaurants plus two grocery stores (Tesco and Spar) up the block. So many options.

STAY HERE
We loved this hotel, from check in to check out, everything was great. We arrived early (5am) on a cold, rainy Dublin morning and the staff was super friendly about giving us our room. (Granted it was the off season, but still nice) The hotel itself is very well kept and the rooms are nice sized and very clean. We liked the fact that we could walk to Temple bar area or Stephens green but then return to our quieter area at night. Not that the area is dead. There are some great pubs and coffee spots within a block. i only wish we could go back in the summer to take a stroll along the canal right in front of the hotel. If you need a budget friendly hotel in Dublin, you can't beat this spot.

The Mespil is consistently a good
The Mespil is consistently a good performer and a great value 3 star hotel. Front desk staff who are friendly and professional. Rooms are good sized, bright and warm. Bathrooms are clean and functional. Lunch in the restaurant is good value and popular. Location is great. If there is a weak spot it is probably the bar which is big, lacking in atmosphere and expensive.
