Suited us just fine

For a City break, this hotel is ideally located. Within walking distance of many things and very close to the Luas line which is a 3 minutes walk from the hotel. Some nice eateries and pubs in the vicinity, we didn't eat in the hotel, so we can't comment on that. Special rate is available in the underground car park for hotels guests provided you don't remove it during your stay. Wouldn't want to be out walking too late in the Smithfield area because of some local 'characters'. Room would benefit from a small personal safe. Otherwise it suited us fine.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Make sure to pay a visit to the National Museum at Collins Barracks just a 10 minute stroll from the hotel. It's free of charge and well worth a visit.

Good location, friendly and helpful staf

The hotel was in an ideal location within walking distance of the city centre and Temple Bar. Unfortunately there was building work going on nearby which caused things to be quite noisy during the day (between 8am and 6pm) although this was not the hotel's fault. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was very clean - highly recommended.

Good Value

Good location. Close to LUAS station what takes you to close to most attractions. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, pretty comfortable beds. Everything was good in our room, but the other room's carpet smelt like urine.

Great budget hotel

Staff is very helpful and attentive. Wish there was a mini-fridge in the room, otherwise, everything was perfect for a three star hotel

Good choice for the money

Had been to Ireland before, but this time went for a short trip to experience St Patrick's Day in Dublin. The Maldron Smithfield was good value for the price. In walking distance of many of Dublin's best attractions. The staff at the hotel were really delightful young people, helpful and professional. There is no actual room service but you can order food from the kitchen and go pick it up on trays. The carpets were in need of some attention, but the bathrooms were always well cleaned with a good supply of clean towels. Would stay there again.

Would definitely stay here again.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. The room was up to date and well kept. The location was good if you like to walk, as there were at least a dozen points of interest within a twenty minute radius on foot. The market next door was convenient for snacks, quick meals, or other creature comforts. The only turn off was the lack of an actual shower liner. The tub had a half shower door, and it took some doing to keep the shower water off of the floor. This was our first overseas trip, so forgive my ignorance if this is a common situation. Overall the stay was very pleasant.

Perfect City Centre Location

A perfectly situated hotel in terms of City Centre Luas is 2 minute walk from the hotel. The Maldron is a quiet hotel which lacked a welcoming atmosphere, it seemed a bit quiet and lonely (no sign of guests coming and going, no music in the foyer). Hotel Bar was quiet with no customers, and reception manager was also serving in the bar, no bar staff as such. The staff were accommodating and polite, and were happy to help. Rooms clean and comfortable. Overall, a perfect spot for tourists/guests. The location is key!
