horrible experience

Hotel was very clean and warm however staff were unfriendly and in some cases rude.Waited over an hour and a half for dinner on the Friday evening as the kitchen forgot our order.Had a wake up call from reception the next morning to keep down the noise we were asleep as it was 4.00 am they'd rang the wrong number not even a proper apology was given. This experience has put me off staying in this or any of there hotels again

Couples getaway.

Great staff, our room was very warm at night and because it is on a very busy noisy road opening the window wasn't an option and the radiator didn't turn down either, apart from that it was a great hotel and the staff are an definite asset to the hotel. If I wanted to do Dublin again I don't think I would stay that far from the city, I would rather pay the extra to stay closer to the city.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

I think a shuttle service provided by the hotel would be a great asset , as long as it wasn't too expensive.

Lovely weekend break

Enjoyed a nice weekend here between Christmas and New Year. Hotel was very clean and rooms very comfortable and really quiet as we looked onto a courtyard. Arena leisure centre was excellent and included in the rate. The bar area was disappointing as it was like a big barn was cold and had no character and had football blaring from all screens.Breakfast was fine we had a swim before breakfast every morning so it was always after 10 before we ate and the food had been lying out for a while but nice selection of fruit , cereals, croissants and usual full Irish breakfast items. Had we eaten at 8 when it opened I'm sure it was all much fresher. Free secure underground parking is great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is close to the Luas which takes 40 min to get to town for only 5 euro return. Probably a bit far out for serious Dublin sightseeing but suited us fine as we spent a day in Dublin and a day in the Kildare village and Dundrum shopping centre . Free wifi in rooms but it is erratic and frequently disconnects. We would recommend this hotel for a good value stay in Dublin. One recommendation -supply bigger bath towels please.

Maldron Hotel Tallaght

Hallways were hot, room had unpleasant odor. Party in lobby when we arrived, noone at reception to buzz people in from carpark. Other than that an okay stay, we only slept there anyway.

Okay and modern

The hotel is modern, but the staff friendliness and amenities such as the breakfast needs some work. All the other hotels I have stayed in Ireland have exceptional staff friendliness - however this one it seemed just like they were doing there job and not creating that special feeling. Breakfast was often in disarray with one often waiting for items in the buffet. The supper menu was very good value and the food was very tasty

Nice hotel

Had a few problems on check in with room allocation but this was quickly resolved. Great staff. The location is a little bit far from dublin. Food and service was very good. Would stay again.

Very welcoming and friendly place to stay

I would most definitely recommend people to stay at the Maldron Tallaght! The hotel is in a very friendly and quiet suburban part of Dublin, if you are getting a private taxi to and from the airport be prepared to pay around €45 each way, although this sounds steep it was much easier and convenient than waiting for the bus hopper that is recommended. Our flight to Dublin was very early meaning we arrived at the hotel at 9.30am, thinking we would just have out bags saved and then return at the time of checking in later that day, however the staff were very helpful and understanding and actually let us in our room at that time which was fantastic. Whilst there we used the health facilities and bar, both were enjoyable. Bar was quite expensive though, Guinness is local so costs about the same however 1 glass of wine was €9.50. The people of Tallaght in a local bar were very friendly and made us English visitors feel welcome. There is a Luas service about 5 mins walk from the hotel, which runs right to Dublin town centre, and cost us only €4 per person return. This was ideal and very organised, nothing like the rail and bus service of England! I have read previous reviews on the hotel and feel that some comments are a bit harsh, yes there are some stains on carpets and location may not be to everyone's desire but we totally enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning later this year! It was nice to see the quieter side of Dublin aswell as the hustle and bustle of the town centre and Temple Bar!

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

We spent a whole afternoon and evening at the Abberly Hotel bar and restaurant, and then onto their nightclub 'Entourage' which was upstairs. Bar is good for all ages and reasonably priced with live entertainment, club would only suit younger people or those who are rather outgoing!

One night stay for a next day hospital appointment

Second stay here, well worth the money. A little tired the room compared to our stay four years ago, but still a lovely hotel. Will stay again, next time we are in Dublin
