AIRPORT SHUTTLE PROBLEMS
Our European tour took us through Dublin twice within 2 weeks... we had reservations at the Hilton Dublin Airport hotel both times, and both times we encountered problems with the free shuttle service, having to wait at the airport shuttle stop in the bitter cold weather for over an hour the first time (shuttle did finally show up), and then over an hour the second time around as well (gave up this time and took another hotel's shuttle that had come and gone several times as we waited). Attempted to call the number for the Hilton as listed on their website and it didn't work... attempted to call a different number, as listed at the shuttle stop on their very inaccurate schedule, and was kept on hold so long that I gave up on that also, never getting through (phone calls cost a pretty penny when in Europe... racked up a bill just waiting on hold)

was dissapointed
This hotel is very nice, however they really need a door person to help with luggage, there were 2 receptionists when i checked in and no one else in the lobby...i struggled with my 3 bags and the two receptionists just looked at each other and smiled.I have been in a lot of hotels across the world and this is not the standard i would expect from a 4 star hotel.... disappointing...

Dublin sightseeing
Overall, very nice hotel. Staff was extremely helpful with maps and giving us tips for using buses to get into Dublin proper. (bus stop within 1 block) Also, had a Walmart type store within 1 block for those items you forgot to pack. Free transport to and from airport and our driver went above and beyond to show me where exactly in the airport I had to pay for tolls on the M50 ring road. Good food, comfortable bed, and staff that went the extra mile. I would definitly stay here again on another trip to Ireland.

Trinity college. If you're going to see the Book of Kells, sign up for the tour at the entry. Only costs an extra Euro over regular entry and is given by the college students. Funny and very well acquainted with the subject. Lots of little anecdotes that made it quite memorable.

Great Location
Stayed at the Wynn's Hotel for a week with my wife while at a conference in Dublin. We enjoyed the breakfast and the location which is a short walk to Grafton Street and Temple Bar. It is also on the Luas making travel easy, but we chose to walk to Connolly Station to take DART trips out of the City. We also walked to Croke Park (about 15 minutes) and watched the Gaelic Football semifinal. I would definitely stay there again.

Good accommodations near the Dublin airport
We used this hotel as our 'exit' hotel from Ireland (our last night), as this was located reasonably close to the airport (it also has a Super TESCO across the street). The staff were friendly, the room was nice, however the bed wasn't as comfortable as others we had slept in at other hotels. The food in the restaurant was good. Additionally, the free shuttle to/from the airport was nice to have.
