Excellent budget option in an ideal location across from Christchurch Cathedral
The Harding is a well-maintained and friendly older hotel around the corner from the airport shuttle bus stop and within a few mintes walk of Temple Bar pubs, Trinity College, and the Liffy River. Rooms include a small TV (local channels only), wifi (problematic for my older android 3.0), an electric kettle, and a mini-refrigerator (empty for your own snacks. There is a pub attached to the hotel. Breakfasts are available in the hotel, but are optional. Prices are very reasonable, especially for central Dublin. I would be happy to stay there again.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
A bus pass (city bus rambler pass or tourist hop on) is useful for outlying sights like the Kilmainham Gaol or National Botanic Garden. Both are available at the airport. The rambler pass includes the airport shuttle bus.

WOW!
The location is perfect, on one edge of Temple Bar and a block from the River Liffey. I did not use any public transportation at due to the very centralized location. The convenience to the bus stop to get from and to the airport was unbelieveable! Right around the corner! The staff was helpful, offering suggestions and advice. One in particular, Mrs. Murphy, was the one I encountered the most and I took her advice on excursions and pubs and she was dead on every time. She even surprised me with a Happy Birthday greeting that a friend of mine had emailed the hotel and requested. The room was a very typical european effieciency room, with a very small bathroom ensuite. It was very tidy and clean, with a kettle, refrigerator, tv, and a mind blowing view of Christchurch Cathedral. If I had to make any criticism of this hotel at all it would be that the carpet was really worn. But the staff did a good job of keeping it vacuumed. Overall this hotel is 2 thumbs up, with all of the the things you need to have an enjoyable stay in Dublin. Were I to return to Dublin I would certainly stay here again.

Great stay and value
The Harding Hotel was perfect for my purpose. I am an active traveler and didn't plan to spend much time in my room, so I didn't want an expensive hotel bill. I chose the Harding for the price and location, but was pleasantly surprised by the comfort of the hotel as well. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the area felt safe. Plus it is very close to the airport bus stop, as well as many tourist attractions

Unheavenly bells
The hotel was fine for the money, but it has one huge disadvantage. It's just opposite a cathedral that for some reason has to ring bells all day and night. Every hour is struck, no matter if nobody cares whether it's 3 AM or not. And the Friday evening carillon went on and on and on Unless you sleep the sleep of the dead, you will constantly wake up. It sort of poisoned my stay there. The other thing was, the wifi sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. I went to other places and my computer picked up the signal fine. Not at the Harding. They tried to do something but to no avail. Very inconvenient. They called a nearby hotel and I went there to get my email but clearly I'd rather do that in my own room.

Clean but basic
Hotel is in a great location, not right in the center of the hustle and bustle, but very easy walking distance to everything. I had a single room with a nice view over Christchurch that was well worn, but kept very clean with fresh towels everyday. Having a fridge was great. Given some other reviews, I was concerned about potential noise, but the Christchurch bells and bar downstairs were never an issue. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

Basic Accomodations, Great Service
Very basic but great service, starting with an early check-in at about 10am. Staff gave accurate and thorough advice about places to shop, transport, places to jog, and areas to avoid after nightfall. Single room was TINY but clean. Location is great, just on the outskirts of the center of everything. If you're spending a lot of time in your room, beware of the church bells from Christ Church. They almost never cease on Sundays apparently. Both the restaurant and bar attached were great as well. Avoid walking down the hill on Fishamble St. alone at night, it was quite desolate.

Basic but good
All fairly straightforward.. everything was good and the hotel is more central and closer to Temple Bar and Dublin city center than I thought it would be.. Bit disappointed that there was not a basic Nokia phone charger available as these are available everywhere but that was as much my own fault for not having my own.

Good stuff!
Although I was in Dublin for two short days, this hotel was the perfect place for restful sleep. The room was huge with a gigantic bed (two twins pushed together to make a king). The room was equipped with a tv, mini-fridge and internet. The hotel was very close to Temple Bar, without being in the hustle and bustle of this neighborhood. It only took about ten minutes to walk to the fun and excitement of Temple Bar. The hotel offered free internet which was great, except the internet was only permitted for certain material. I was not able to go to certain chat sites to talk to friends and etc. because they were labeled "adult sites". The telephone didn't work when I tried to call the reception desk, not a major problem but one I notified them of. The tv didn't work well when I notified the staff of this problem as well. They immediately sent someone up to check on it and said it was a reception problem. The only other problem was lack of A/C. It was a rare, hot summer day while I was staying and with the windows open you are able to hear every outside bar patrons conversation and outside noise. Not conducive when you have to go to bed early to catch a 6 am flight. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout my stay. My luggage was lost at the airport and the hotel recieved my luggage and signed for it. Tehy also loaned me a cell phone charger while my luggage was lost, very handy! When I left the hotel at 4 am to catch my flight the front desk staff was very helpful, calling me a cab then offering me food/drink while I waited for the cab. Overall a great place to stay!

Short walk from hotel
Everything is really close to this hotel. It is located just a short walk from Temple Bar (bars, nightclubs, restaurants) really close to Christchurch and just a few blocks away from the river Liffey.
