Great Location! Very Clean

Room was very clean and comfortable. Very close to downtown and the blue bus direct line to the airport! Will stay there again!

Great Place!!

Location was nice, just 1.5 blocks from Grand Canal Dock DART station. Excellant staff, quiet hotel, large room, clean, & modern. Safe location too! I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Dublin. I was travelling alone as a female and felt safe all the time.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Get a transport pass that is good for both Dublin City Bus and DART. You won't have to worry about having change on you at all times, saves you a bit of money too.

Quiet and convenient

Stayed four night in this hotel and slept well for all of them. It is quiet, very clean, free wi-fi, a bar on the premise that serves food but is not wild, and helpful staff. Plus its close to the Schoolhouse stop on the airport bus. It's about a 20 minute walk to Trinity College and also the convention center, so not super close. The neighborhood seemed very safe--I walked back to the hotel at night (10:30) with no trouble, a woman by myself. I would definitely stay here again.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

Cornucopia is an excellent inexpensive vegetarian restaurant on Wicklow Street, just of Grafton. It's about a 20-25 minute walk.

Exceeded Highest Expectations

I travel more than I woul like for work and occassionally find a hotel or B&B that makes the list of places that I would bring my Wife and children for holiday. The Grand Canal Hotel made the short list. The lobby and room were bright and airy, the Irish breakfast was devine; however, the staff separates this hotel from their comptitors.

Excellent location, great hotel.

an excellent central location to the local nightlife areas. A 10 Euro cab ride to either Temple Bar or Steven's Green and high traffic so never waited more than a minute or two. Also walking distance to the stadium. Free wifi was nice as well.

Very nice, clean, and comfortable

We were there for the Dublin Marathon and the finish line was about 1/2 mile from the hotel. We stayed in room 529 and really enjoyed it. It was quiet and room was a nice size and with a queen bed. The location was great...we were probably a little over a mile walk to the center of Dublin. We didn't rent a car and just walked everywhere. (Start doing some walking a few weeks before your trip if you plan get around this way.) The restaurant in the hotel had good food.

Great Place to Stay. Friendly staff.

We went on the Dart all the way to Malhidle and down to Davenport. Had a great time around Dublin and the service at the Hotel, especially Nicole and Caesar in the Gasworks were outstanding.

Very good value for Dublin

Took the regular air conditioned Aircoach from Dublin airport direct to School House Hotel stop...easy short walk from there (14 Euros return). The hotel is modern, clean and situated away from the hurly burly of central Dublin.A boisterous pub is attached, so be prepared for music noise on Saturday night until about midnight.Comfortable, clean room. Excellent quality and choice of breakfast. Dart railway is close..cheap and efficient.Took about 30 mins to walk into town along fine Georgian streets and through St.Stephens Gdns.

Shopping tip: Long walk from hotel

St.Stephens shopping mall. We were there on a Sunday so late opening for many shops...go after lunch (Dubliners like a lie-in on Sundays). Good for souvenirs...some even quite tasteful !
