lovely hotel!
very pretty hotel, awesome bar/eating area, and live entertainment at night. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was the nicest we stayed in on our whole trip overseas. Other than one snippy female manager; it was great!

great hotel on a golf course that is quite a distance from Dublin. worth it though if you just take the lanus line (above ground tram) that goes from west dublin (where the hotel is) to the city center.

Great Value for Money!
Stayed with some friends a few weeks back and I can't fault the hotel. Yes it is a bit our of town but the tram brings you into the city in 20 minutes or so. The room was clean, the staff friendly and the golf course is great! There are also lots of walks you can do around the area - cannot fault the hotel for the price

Dump in disguise
Don't let the helicopter and Rolls Royce placed prominently outside the entrance fool you. This is an overpriced dump with dingy, dated, and dirty rooms (don't look at the back of your quilt until you are leaving). The elevators creak and groan and appear cheap. You can pay more for slightly better rooms (e.g. with plasma TV's) but don't count on it being any cleaner. The hotel has hundreds of rooms and is like a maze. Motel 6 has better basic standards of maintenance and cleanliness. Service was friendly if occasionally incompetent. Food was good and the lobby and bar area nice. Grounds are nicely maintained and the exercise facilty and pool is quite good. Unfortunately these plusses can't outweigh the overall sense that this is a dump that survives on masses of tourists who come on coach tours and never return.

Nice hotel
The City West Hotel was beautiful and had a lot to offer. We enjoyed golfing and they had many dining options. The staff was friendly and the rooms were very nice. One thing that was different was that at their beautiful spa and leisure center everything except the pool is kept separate. We wanted to enjoy the sauna and jacuzzi together but both were kept gender separated. Some people might enjoy this but it was something we didn't like. Overall though it was a beautiful hotel with a lot to offer.

We loved the tavern they have inside the hotel. It was a comfy lounge atmosphere and they also offer inexpensive sandwiches. We tried their Hibernian Bistro and that was more pricey but it was a great dinner and worth the money.

family friendly and comfortable
After a little confusion with the check-in things settled in. We found our rooms very comfortable. The hotel staff went out of their way to be helpful with everything from directions to room service. Two beautiful golf courses are on the grounds as well as three restaurants. The complimentary Irish breakfasts were amazing! Citywest is a great location away from the hustle bustle of Dublin, yet only a 15 minute drive.
