Great family hotel

Would recommend Wed, Jul 15, 2015
All staff were warm, welcoming and accommodating. Rooms comfortable but could benefit from a fridge. Breakfast offered an extensive variety of options to suit all. Leisure facilities good. Location excellent for tranquil environment but still with easy access to city centre by car.

Grand

Would recommend Mon, Apr 13, 2015
Have stayed here on Good Friday. was looking forwars to a few cold pints and grub. Bar staff were very slow and informed us that we had to eat in order to drink and that as soon as our food was eating we were no longer aload ourchase alcohol. So we decided to order a two course meal we had our first course eating before we even got our first drink. We then ordered our second drink when the main came out we finished our nain and reminded staff that we ordered but we were going to cancel as it took so long. Then the staff person dropped down one drink and said the other is on the way. To me this is very bad service and food was not great either :-(. For such a great hotel this was a let down :-(

Nothing spectacular

Customer service was good, but only members of the front reception team did an outstanding job. When we arrived, we were very hungry, so we checked in, had our room changed because it wasn't what we had booked for, and then went downstairs to the restaurant. When we arrived there, the hostess asked if we had made a reservation, and when we told her we were not made aware at check in that this had to be done, she said we should have made one because the room was all booked for dinner, but that it was empty then, so they would accommodate us anyway....I felt like saying, "Well, gee, thanks" after the experience with her. The room was well appointed and clean (the second one - the first one smelled like Doritos when we arrived in it). The front desk staff helped, but the hotel does not have shuttle service to the airport, so we could not drop off our rental early before our insanely early flight the following day at checkout. Traffic in the area is very high volume at rush hour.

Don't be fooled!

Would not recommend Tue, Jul 1, 2014
Lousy. We had an unexpected trip and booked last minute because of the pool. What they don't tell you is that the pool is only open for kids between 9-6. We got there at 6 and while there was NO ONE in the pool, we weren't allowed to bring our kids in. When we arrived with suitcases, no one greeted us, no one took the bags. I got my own trolley, brought them in, and then brought them up to my room. At "Ireland's Best Hotel" this seemed pretty lame. We had a king sized bed and a single in the room advertised as an "executive twin" but were told we had to get a second room for our kids. This turned a good deal into a bad deal for us. The staff was also quite unhelpful. They didn't know bus routes/prices to the neighboring village, and gave terrible directions to the bus stop. Overall feel was snobbery not warmth. Also, it cost 40 Euro to get from the airport. So it wasn't close enough to be convenient for a close trip.

Very pleasant experience

Would recommend Mon, Feb 24, 2014
Stayed here for four nights at a very competitive rate. The welcome/check in/check out was really good. The room was very comfortable (TV was a bit small and dated). Might have eaten breakfast but couldn't find any prices in the room? Free wifi! We were at the far end of the hotel which was perfect for a noise free nights sleep. Facilities were very good (you need a swimming cap for the pool). All staff through out were well trained and friendly. Fresh milk was available to the room for tea. (Delivered to your door in minutes free of charge. Location is great if you have a car (parking is free) only 20 minutes to the city centre. Great location for exploring and would stay again and recommend.

Friendly 'posh' hotel

Would recommend Mon, Jun 24, 2013
I was travelling on business and wanted a clean, decent hotel on this side of Dublin. This was great. On the downside the room was stuffy, with no aircon and because it was by a flat roof the windows had limited opening. The restaurant and the bar were good, though strange jazz music piped in the restaurant. Breakfast was excellent (pay in advance at the front desk for saving nearly half the price)
