Dining

The Vat House
The VAT house Bar of Temple Bar is a traditional Irish Pub, which gets its name from the vat house in the Guinness Brewery, St. James Gate Dublin. During the final stage of the brewing process Guinness is stored in large copper vats and left to mature, thereby allowing the flavour to develop.

Noisy

Blooms is an ideal location for shops and restaurants but being based in Temple Bar not ideal if u plan to have any sleep during your stay. The noise all during the night is relentless, between pubs closing then bin collections and power washing starting from 6am !!! Do NOT stay here if you are on a "business trip" - only for very very social visits its ideal, as long as you don't need any sleep

Grand time!

From the moment we arrived we had a fantastic stay. Friendly reception staff. Good clean basic room which was excellent. Took the advice of previous guests and requested upper floors at back of hotel, but you know, it really is slap bang in the city centre so don't complain if its peace and quiet your after. So handy for restaurants and pubs (visit the 'Auld Dubliner' for a grand ol' sing song). Tourist shop just on the main drag to get the GREEN Dublin tour bus. The hotel bar (VAT bar) served the best Guinness!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Wide choice of restaurants or if after a snack, turn right out of hotel and on the main drag there's a LONDIS store which has both it's own sandwich deli plus a Subway next to it? What's that all about? Only in Dublin. Great takeaway choices that are so near as well. Kebabs and burgers and 'Chipper's' too!

Great Place Great Location Great Value

Stayed in Blooms with my daughter and her friend last week and it was great, only complaint i would have is that it can be a bit noisy late at night and early morning but you have to remember you ARE in the busiest spot in Dublin. The Hotel is so central to everywhere, few mins walk from Dublin Castle,Olympia, halfpenny Bridge and City Centre. I am heading back to stay in Blooms again this week cannot wait to soak up the atmosphere in Temple Bar Oh and I got a lovely drink on the house when I arrived and they kept our bags while we went shopping the day after :)

Staff was very helpful and accommodating!

Pretty much the staff was the best part of this hotel. My dad and I didn't rent a car and wanted to relay on public transportation so we asked the staff how to go about that. They were so helpful in looking up times and the most convenient train and bus rides so by the second day we pretty much had it all down and traveled all across the country with ease! They also gave great advice of places to see and do in the city. The room was kept very clean, great cleaning staff. The beds were a little small and firm for my tastes but it is Europe so I was expecting that. The shower was a little under pressured but again didn't really mind. Other then that the room was great. Had a great view and a great little tea maker. Location couldn't be better. You're right in the heart of all the activity and the music! You have countless bars and restaurants to choose from all within a block or two of cobble stone streets which screamed Ireland! If you plan on enjoying numerous pints and listen to fantastic music you'll be a kid in a candy store here! Top notch hotel. Couldn't have been happier with my experience!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Take the city tours! They are a hop off and hop on service and it's a two day pass. You can see the whole city center for a fraction of the cost of a cab from place to place and you can save all the energy you'd spend walking. They tell you about the great sights and if you plan on a Guinness tour they have discount tickets as well. Use it to learn history or as a cheap form of transport around the city.

Good location

Very comfortable, accessable. Good amenities. But dirty towels left on back of bathroom door from previous occupant, honest mistake I guess, but not pleasant.

On the edge of Temple Bar

The location was perfect for walking all of Dublin and hanging out in Temple Bar. Do not stay here if you require quiet to sleep. Band played until 1.

Great location, could've been a bit better

The location of this hotel was fabulous! Right in the heart of Temple Bar! There's a club and a bar downstairs, so I wouldn't recommend staying there (at least on the first floor) on the weekend...Music was blaring until about 2 am on a Saturday night when I stayed there. Otherwise, the hotel was great for the price and location.
