Very Affordable
we got a great deal for a two night stay. Easy access to city centre. Bar and reception staff very friendly and helpful. the negative side, had requested a meal in the restaurant on the Sunday night (of a Bank Holiday weekend). The restaurant was closed at 7.30pm, which seemed to be very early. Food was cold, served on a cold plate. We complained to the waitress who told us there was nothing could be done as the manager was off. Only disappointing aspect of an otherwise very good weekend

Nice and also affordable
Really, we just used the hotel as a staging place so that we could catch an early flight out of Dublin the next morning, closing out our vacation to Ireland. The only disappointment was that the hotel is not as close to the airport as we had hoped. It's actually 15 miles or so. In this sense, we thought the hotel's website, touting proximity to the airport, was a bit misleading

Make sure you have a gps system on your rental car or map/clear directions on how to get to the hotel to or from the airport, as you can get pretty lost, even as you try to orient yourself to left-lane driving...

Not bad
The hotel is a decent place to spend the night waiting for a flight but I wouldn't recommend it if your main purpose is to sight see in Dublin. Transportation via taxi or bus will be required. There are not many restaurants in the area of the hotel but the pub attached to the hotel is fantastic. The waitstaff and bartenders are friendly and know everyone, even brand new guests, by name. The food was impressive and reasonably priced.

If a pub crawl is high on your list for your Irish experience, stay away from Good Friday and Christmas. Businesses are prohibited from selling alcohol on these days.

You get more than what you paid for
The Sheldon Park Hotel in Dublin Ireland is a great place to book a trip if you plan on staying in the Dublin area of Ireland. It is two blocks away from the Luas Rail, which runs directly to the City Centre (about 15 min ride) check in time for us was 2pm and our flight arrived at 8am, so book a late afternoon or evening flight. I'd recommend going to the airport and talking to the tourist information booth there, they can hook you up with a pass that gives you access to the Dublin Bus Service + unlimited Luas travel, me and my girlfriend got a 7 day ticket for 30 Euros each...well worth it since you'll be using the Luas to get to Dublin everyday, and the bus is good if you are in the city and want to go somewhere else. The shower in our room kinda sucked, but that may be all showers in Europe for all i know. The soap/shampoo they provide you with at the hotel is all natural and smells a bit weird, so you may definately want to bring your own. There is a 24 hour McDonald's, and since a lot of Pubs (just about all from my experience) stop selling pub grub around 9, the McDonalds is a good alternative to get late night munchies, but try to stay away because the pub grub in any pub is delicious and fresh! P.S. Ireland is a small country so i'd also recommend doing the Cliffs of Moher tour, the brochuer can be also found at the tourist info desk at the airport when you first land. It was only 20 Euro for an all day trip, which included all transportation. Another great place to visit right near Dublin is Howth, which the Luas can take you to the Connolly station to take the DART train to Howth, which is a great small village near the shore specializing in seafood, but also has a sweet cliff walk you can do. If you goto Howth, plan to go in the morning to get great cliff views!!

The Temple bar area is the touristy part of Dublin, my girlfriend and I were under the impression it was an actual bar. Apparently it is both, the area itself is very touristy, you'd most likely see a lot of other travelers there. The actual pub Temple Bar was too elusive for us, we never found it. Check out the Temple Bar Area for the live music, but the pubs are very expensive. Goto a low key bar (Bowe's a block down from Temple Bar Area) and talk with the locals, thats what Ireland is all about!!!

A Fair Deal
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for one night as a stopover after our flights, and before we drove down to our final destination in County Cork. The room was completely acceptable, and met all our basic needs. It was fairly difficult to find while driving in a car, but I get the impression that this is standard for anything in Dublin if you don't know the city. The pub/restaurant attached is also kind of pricey, but this too seems to be normal. It did offer free parking, which was really great, and the folks at the reception were really helpful. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel for anyone who didn't need to be close to the city center.

I really enjoyed my stay at this
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. my family and I have access to the Luas by way of a 5 min walk and it took us to our venue the 02. We had a great time in the leisure center where we used the pool and jacuzzi etc. My son is 9 and he loved the fact that we had a pool at the hotel. A really fun time.

Great value!!!
Great hotel if you are looking to get out of the City Centre for some quiet. There is a tram stop about 1-2 blocks from the hotel and a McDonald's nearby. The food was excellent (but a little pricey). The staff was very friendly and helpful.....would definitely stay here again!!!

A Good Hotel at a Great Price
At first, I thought that the hotel was way to far away from City Center, Dublin. But with the Luis Tram within two blocks from the hotel, it was easy getting to downtown Dublin, Temple Bar area, etc. The hotel is in a quiet area, clean, and safe. What makes this hotel unigue is the Fitness/Pool/Sauna Leisure Club that a hotel guest has full access to. My biggest disappointment was that they felt I paid to little for the room and a continental breakfast did not come with it. What they offer is overpriced anyway. I fould myself having breakfast in town. If given the option, spend a bit more on your room that will include the breakfast each morning! The pub at the hotel was excellent. The varied menu was surpurb, with daily specials offered. Entertainment on Fri. and Sat nights was excellent and alot of fun!

Just average for a budget priced hotel
Don't be misled by the pool as advertised - it is next door in a separate facility. Other than a very friendly bartender and one of the desk clerks hospitality was not great. Location is good for light rail service into Dublin. Would recommend limited stay here, find B&Bs instead where owners take pride in their business.

Use the hop on-hop off tour bus of Dublin to get a feel for the city and be able to see the attractions you are interested in.
