Really central....once we found it

A really pleasant stay. Our main difficulty was FINDING The Maldron. Although we had print of Cork, we initially found the hotel very difficult to find. Granted it was dark, and in a hire car, but because of the many one-systems in Cork, what appeared to simple was not. Now we know how to get there, we would definitely choose The Maldron again.

Excellent Location with good leisure facilities

My room was dated, the bed was comfortable, the bath was full sized and the shower was brilliant. I couldn't fault the location, just a short walk from the center with all that Cork City has to offer. The Shandon Bells and Butter Museum are literally a few steps from the hotel entrance and both are worthwhile of a visit, very interesting. I really enjoyed the leisure facilities: a swimming pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub and gym. The staff were friendly and helpful. I thought that the hotel meals were a little expensive but acknowledge that hotel meals usually do cost more than restaurants in town. All in all I had a good stay and will definitely stay at this hotel again if I can get the same package. Try this hotel, I do not think you will be disappointed - I wasn't. Mo Cox

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Do not miss The English Market with cakes and pastries made by Angelique. Huge slices made fresh every day and truly delicious. Try O'Briens for a combo meal of a toasted sandwich and bowl of soup, filling and good value for money

Many problems

We were put on the fifth floor which obviously has water pressure problems. We had no hot water at night. Our shower was broken from the very beginning so instead of fixing it we had to go to an empty room to take a shower. The reception people were nice but didn't seem terrible concerned about fixing the problem. Because they were fully booked we could not move to another room for two days. One manager said we would be compensated for our troubles but we were not. The only good thing about this hotel for us was the location in relation to the city centre.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

This hotel was an easy walk to the city centre for shopping and dining. We liked the city of Cork very much. It was very easy to get around.

Good location, very helpful staff

This was a good location for a weekend in Cork. The staff were very helpful and all very pleasant. There were a few niggles - one the breakfast wasn't included and no where did it say that on our confirmation email also there was no toilet lid to the seat in our room. They did offer to move us. It was very noisy at night. Having said that the helpful friendly staff more than made up for that

Great location

This hotel was in a great location after spending the day at Blarney Castle. Just a very short walk to the Center of Cork which is quite lovely. The hotel was European charming, the room adequate and the restaurant was simply OK. The staff didn't smile much but then they were tolerating the crowds for the football finals. Parking was a huge issue. The hotel has very very minimal parking so you are left to find street parking which is somewhat of a nightmare on a Saturday night!
