The newly opened Carlton Abbey is a choice for those wishing to enjoy a relaxing break in some of Irelands' gorgeous unspoilt countryside but who may wish to stay within travelling distance of Dublin. (08/08rt) The hotels landmark building was once the Sisters of Mercy convent and has been carefully and tastefully restored, retaining all of its original striking features. The Carlton Abbey Hotel is located in the stunning scenery of county Kildare. It is approximately 1 and a half hours (70 km) from both Dublin and Rosslare giving visitors from outside Ireland good access by ferry or by air.
