Staff very efficient and courteous. Rooms on the small side but otherwise clean and comfortable. Had breakfast each morning - sometimes good ,other times short of different breakfast items. Bar food good but a little on the costly side. Prices on the whole rather pricey. Would use the hotel again as it was convienent for the purpose of my stay.

We had a fantastic overnight stay at the Radisson Blu, Athlone. The accommodation was wonderful, the staff were very helpful and friendly and Athlone was great.

Our family of 5 adults found Athlone and the Radisson Blu Hotel, true highpoints of our stay. It's a first class, modern hotel, with the reasonable rates, in a FANTASTIC location -- on the Shannon river; across from the historic castle, barracks,bridge, and Sean's pub; easy drives to Clonmacnoise, Tullamore, and other historic sites. Upgrade rooms for river view. The train station is 2 blocks away. Staff was especially helpful. Athlone is a walkable, compact gem of a town. Like all of Ireland, residents are friendly and helpful.

Nightlife tip:
Short walk from hotel
Sean's pub. Oldest pub in Ireland, and best in Athlone. Arrive late, around 10 p.m. to meet locals. From hotel, walk across bridge, around castle, and about 50 meters you're there.

Great Hotel
This is a fantastic hotel with very friendly staff and upscale rooms. Everything was very clean, and surprisingly first class when you consider the price. This was a true highlight to our trip to Ireland.

Across the river, there is an Indian restaurant that has phenomenal food. It was one of the top two Indian food restaurants I have ever been to. Seans Bar is also a great watering hole.

Hotel in great location overlooking
