With all the traveling I have
With all the traveling I have done in Indonesia this is the best hotel I have stayed at bar none. Yes it was a long walk to my room from reception but it was worth it. I am led to believe the place has recently been renovated and it is great mix of the old and the new. This hotel has a long history and it is displayed for anyone to enjoy. Food and service was fantastic. Location was a little far from the shopping district (20 mins walk) but ample transport was waiting out side day and night. I definatly will be there again on my next visit.

Excellent staffs that makes my
Excellent staffs that makes my stay excellent. Esp. my driver for the day trip, price is more expensive but worth the money. great service and action was taken almost the next minutes.

It's okayyyyyyy
This hotel wasn't very expensive, so in some ways, you pay for what you get. In the room, there were no other towels aside from bath towels and ONE hand towel. There were no face towels or the like. The towels were very old as well. The bathroom wasn't cleaned very well since I saw remains of other people's hair. The floor of the room always felt dirty. Outside of the room, noise really carries. Since I was on the second floor, I heard the bar's club music at night and people chatting as the walked by. Luckily, the A/C helped muffle outside noise. The staff was always very helpful and friendly.

Phoenix Hotel
This hotel provided the best service we have received anywhere in Indonesia. Absolutely helpful, friendly staff who were always ready to assist. Rooms were really clean and whenever anything was needed in the room like more sugar for tea and coffee it was there in a flash. [...] doesn't have a lot to do so staying in this hotel was a real treat.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Make sure its a clear day before you do the sunrise Borobudur temple visit. It's really expensive before sunrise but if it's cloudy there is no sunrise. Wait until 6am to get in for about $1.70USD each. Or get there at 5 and pay $32USD each. We should have taken the cheaper option.
