The staff were very friendly and helpful in recommendations, and sorting out a mistake on our reservation. Everyone spoke English to a varying degree, which made it easy for us as well. While the rooms are nothing special to write home about, and
the hallways had a distinct smell that never seemed to go away, it was still clean and comfortable. They are also undergoing some renovations of the public areas which should make it more up to western standards. The pool and the free breakfast out on the patio were nice additions. All in all, great value for money.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
Across the street and to the right, next to the Circle K, is a very nice Indonesian restaurant with top notch dishes for very affordable prices. We could never remember the name of the restaurant, but two of the hotel staff both recommended it, so just ask for the best restaurant walking distance and they should guide you to the same place. We ate there three nights, and the average main dish is $3US. Can't beat it!
