Normally I go to Jakarta on business and stay in one of the 5 star hotels near Plaza Indonesia. I wanted to see/feel a bit more of the city this time, and also see if the cheaper hotels outside the golden triangle are nice places. Well, you get what you pay for with the Santika. The location is closer to the airport, and it was easy to get around the city. The staff are friendly, and basic facilities are fine. It's the little things - the key lock on my door didn't work well, and had to change keys 3 times. The pool had no attendants (couldn't get water, towels, etc. easily). Food service was slow, etc. I would only stay there again to save money.
