Snuggled up to the Aravalli Hills is Shikarbadi, the old hunting lodge of the Mewar rulers. It is situated approximately 4 Km away from the City Palace Complex in breathtaking countryside. Guests here are frequently amazed by the tranquility and peace of this location, despite its close proximity to the city. Along the edge of the lake, this small hotel of 25 rooms has an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Explore the forest on horseback, spot the Antelope, Deer, Neelgai, and Wild Boar which is found in abundance here, from the old hunting post and return to the comfort of the room at sundown. Or live in the rustic luxury of "Risala" an exclusive Open - Air Restaurant, with a view of the wilderness and a distant Sajjangarh Fort lit up under the starlit sky. One can also take advantage of this privacy by holding a business conference here. Property can accommodate up to 100 of delegates and offer them peace during work hours and the leisure activities in the after hours. An evening spent here is a time never to be forgotten because of the combination of the peace, the fire, the food and the feeling of being so remote from the outside world, and yet only 15 minutes from the city cent re. At your disposal at Shikarbadi are the Horses of the Imperial Stud Farm. Property can organize a simple riding lesson to a safari through the Aravallis. Shikarbadi as the name suggests has to do something with a hunting lodge built in the 1930s this was the hunting lodge of the Mewar Royal family. Before that, Shikarbadi was the private residence of Shriji Arvind Singh Mewar, the 76th custodian of the House of Me war and the current Chairman and Managing Director of the HRH Group of Hotels. Such a good deal for 4,000 roupies, great view, quiet (hard to find in India), clean. A small paradise with deers, peacocks, birds...
But it is far from downtown, you need a driver (200 roupies) to go there (5-10min).
Don't take a driver for the
day, we did it, it was expensive (2400 roupies) and useless (you can walk in the all city or use a "Tuc Tuc" for 500 roupies...)
