Ajanta Hotel

A friend and I stayed here for just our first night in December 2011, our first in India. The rooms are clean but basic, there was no hot water so we had to use a kettle for bucket baths. There was also no wireless, and so much noise at all hours that it was hardly a restful experience. Even at this low price, I now expect more, having been to other establishments (in India) that provide all these and more for less. However, the staff made all the difference here, helping us arrange the rest of our transport and accommodation in Rajasthan, and producing a hired car and a hot takeaway lunch (the best biryani-in-a-bag we've ever had) for a quick jaunt in Delhi. We ended up coming back for another night before leaving Rajasthan. Though its probably not an ideal place for an introduction into India, I would say it is a good place if you plan to be out exploring most of the day and just need a place to store stuff and sleep.

I wasn't too impressed with the Ajanta -- the location was great if you were coming in to the New Delhi train station but otherwise it is a loud and utterly chaotic place. I never had hot water to shower or water pressure to even get fully wet without considerable effort. I would never stay there again.

The Ajanta is located in a hotel row near the New Delhi railway station. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Restaurant is clean and safe. Overall it is slightly less spiffy than a mid range American hotel, but comparable to a mid range European hotel. The location is central, an easy taxi rickshaw ride to most attractions, and both much cheaper and more entertaining than the sterile 5 star hotels of Connought Place. An hour after we arrived there was a colorful Lord Krishna parade down the street in front of the hotel. They have helpful travel agents on site who can arrange trips to the Taj and beyond--just say no firmly to the shopping experiences,

The room I stayed at Ajanta Hotel was excellent. Maybe it is on their website really huge; through I believe some rooms are smaller. Their décor and ambience was lovely. All the staff was friendly and smiling. Loved the Indian dishes and at their restaurant. I am happy to share my reviews online. This was a quick trip but will come back.

Hotel was clean, located in an "interesting place near the New Delhi Railway Station. People the ran the hotel were friendly and helpful. Restaurant was inexpensive and ok. Pick up at the airport was good and on time. You must pay for airport return. Wireless internet in the room cost $2 per day. I recommend this hotel to those the want inexpensive but convienent lodging.

My trip to Ajanta Hotel was very Good.A memorable moment.The staff of this hotel is very good and they respected my family too.The complimentary pick-up helped us as our flight landed late night.Next time i will surely stay in this hotel only.Great hospitality.

THere was some noise but not while you are asleep the traffic will wake you up about 6am, room/staff was courteous and rooms were well maintained. Railway is within wallking distance as well as the Delhi Metro...the station is New Delhi and all metro pass is 100 Rupye although the hotel's Delhi site seeing prices were not bad there were plenty of local sight seeing booking places so ask around. Overall nice experience and would come again. Can't beat free airport pickup just call and tell them.

The management at Ajanta are educated and open minded people. They genuinely want to make their clients happy. I was there for 3 days but since my bags were misplaced by the airlines; I spend a lot of time at the hotel reception. Good job guys........

I always wanted to see Taj Mahal and finally got the chance to visit India this time. I visited there with my wife and stayed in Hotel Ajanta as suggested by the tourist guide and found it really good! We stayed in Delhi for two days and saw the India Gate, Red fort and many other attractions of the city and did some nice shopping there. As far as our experience with the hotel is concerned i must admit it was simply wonderful. The kind of of attentive, personalize and warm services provided by them are exceptional today. Next time if i visit India i would love to stay there again. They just not provided services within the hotel but also help us for the rest of our trip. Good going guys! All the best!

I liked this hotel. It was my first stay at the hotel and i liked the environment, as the rooms were tidy and food was good. at least it was worth what i paid. Hotel Ajanta was a good choice to stay at. I would definitely recommend it to others.
