The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, the breakfast is a base formula that is filling without being very tasty. The western food is not really something you want to order, I would stick with the Indian. There isn't much access to food
immediately outside the hotel doors so if you are travelling as a couple then you may have more nerve to grab a rickshaw and find something.
The hotel is clean, constantly swept and mopped but needs updating as far as linens etc. There is no internet access in the rooms so you book WIFI time in the lobby entrance.
May and June are very hot so be aware of that when making bookings to do anything in Jaipur.
I used the tours by locals site for day trips and there is alot to see and do in a day trip. So don't try and do too much in the heat of Summer.
If you are on a budget then yes i would recommend this hotel to you. If you are not scared of stepping out of your creature comfort zone then yes i would book it. If you want to avoid constant contact with TV news in English and are fine with just a couple of channels in English then yes I would book it.

Short drive from hotel
I would dine at Niro's in the jewelry district, locals who have the money go there and they also do western food, even the 5 star hotels don't have great Indian food, apart from the Oberoi, which is known for it's incredible food but that is a bit of a hike out of town to their resort. But again I did not dine at other hotels so I cannot say that all food options are bad in Jaipur.
