Overview

Laguna Anjuna features a large lush tropical garden, huge free form swimming pool, old Portuguese mansion and charming laterite cottages with up to 2 bedrooms, comfortably accommodating familes.Laguna Anjuna offers Space and Grace in a country resort which is still very much rural Goa. We are purely a leisure and holiday hotel-no conferences, no bulk bookings. The Goan-Portuguese style house evolved during the 500 years of Portuguese rule, and best exemplifies Goa's expression of its own ethnic identity. Laguna Anjuna was built in what was a field with a grove of many coconut and fruit trees, a farm and a large Portuguese style family country mansion. Featuring designer wrought iron furniture and lamps, graceful Thonnet dining chairs, comfortable Le Corbusier sofas and beautiful stained glass pieces. Laguna Anjuna's most easily recognised feature is its large lush tropical garden as one enters, with its large free form swimming pool. A wild kind of beauty imbues a natural sense of peace and homecoming. The pool floor is in blue and green hues of oxide, and has rocks and trees on its periphery. The showers are hidden among the banana trees. The use of an ozonator and the minimal use of algaecide and chlorine make for a very pleasant swimming experience. The beautiful, old, Portuguese house accommodates the bar, and its long verandah, with dining tables looking out over the soul soothing, romantic garden setting. Some of our own practices were established as a matter of course long before green became fashionable. Our own water comes from four wells in the property; solar heating provides the bulk of our hot water needs, backed up by electrical geysers. We have used traditional eco-friendly practices including coconut wood rafters, terracotta roof tiles and white wash rather than paints. And, by choice, we use a minimum of products of non-bio degradable materials and even these are sent to a unit for recycling.

Dining

Restaurant
We endorse good taste, choosing classical recipes from various cuisines, including Goan and other Indian cuisines. The emphasis is on quality of ingredients and consistency, and of course we do exploit our natural bounty of fresh seafood, vegetables and fruits. For that special occasion, indulge in our full silver service Champagne Breakfast for Two.
