Very nice centrally located hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food (my room came with breakfast and dinner included) was excellent, especially if you like Indian food. The location was excellent, close to major sights in Darjeeling. Most splendid of all was the view from my window of India's highest mountain (there is also a rooftop terrace with mountain views and views over Darjeeling). Public spaces in the hotel were a little cold (I was there in December), but the rooms have space heaters so the rooms themselves were warm. I don't have points of comparison with other hotels in Darjeeling since this was the only one available when I booked, but I was very satisfied.

Short walk from hotel
Short walk to central square and temples. Be sure to see the many monkeys on Observatory Hill.
