Would recommend
good stay
Stayed with family for comfort and privacy. Definitely a good place to stay by any world standards. The room we stayed in was clean,spacious and well furbished. The breakfast included in the price was exceptional. The service was excellent. Having travelled worldwide I feel people get prejudiced against indian restaurants. This place offers better service than many hotels claim. However,Do not use the car hire from the hotel. It is very expensive. Unreasonable!

Great Hotel, Attentive Staff!
We are experience travellers with more refined tastes now as a professional couple with 2 young children (we have outgrown the 1 year of backpacking living we were accustomed to 10 years ago). We frequent South India and enjoyed our trip this time around. Chennai is a wonderful city, but the hustle-bustle, pollution and constant honking can be trying to westerners travelling with young children. The staff at the Courtyard Marriott Chennai were courteous to a fault and attentive to almost every need. The included breakfast was well executed both in the range and quality of Western and South Indian dishes. The room was spacious with a good quality of noise insulation. They were maintained at a high level of cleanliness and managed to keep the hotel and rooms spotless and odour free. The only complaint would be a lack of attention to keep the toilet paper restocked. The conceirge was helpful with directions and the travel desk was helpful in assisting me with confirming my choice seats for our return flight to Canada. The only piece of advice I would offer is to not utilize the autos outside the hotel or use the hotel arranged vehicles for travel as the premium charged was quite high; three times what we payed when taking the city taxi service directly. All in all we will definitely be staying at this hotel when we return to Chennai.

Call local taxi service for metered fares (ie for going to the airport one-way) which will give you the best rates. Avoid autos outside hotel and cars organized through the hotel as you can get better deals through one of the many travel services in the city.

[...] should not rate this as 5 star hotel, it's little misleading.This is a converted hotel from old name to Marriott.Old rooms, paid for upgrade [...], but got a standard room, as they did not have rooms.Food quality not unto mark.Have a good lounge, friendly but reluctant staff, they are convincingly helpful, if u can read my lines.
