Quirky and cool

Really comfy room, fantastic view. I loved all the tips and sayings beautifully painted around the walls. Perfect for a couple but perhaps a bit small for two friends sharing, but then again, who goes to Iceland and spends hardly anytime in their room?! Tea and coffee in the room would have been nice, but I don't think it's common to have a kettle in an Icelandic room. There was a coffee maker/vending machine in reception.

Modern money pit

This hotel is trying to be the it spot with a hip bar in the lobby but for the price, you would expect more than what you get. The room was small, the bathroom was only divided by a sliding frosted glass wall ( no locks and a two inch gap between the door and wall. The location is a hike to the center of town, though only about a ten minute trek.

Exactly what I needed

From the moment I walked through the doors off the plane from London I felt completely welcome and at home here. The location was perfect for what I was doing. It couldn't have been better. The space in the hotel itself, the lobby, the amazing bar, the restaurant (Which I only used for breakfast) was invaluable. My room was comfortable, tidy, clean and felt a bit more like an apartment than a hotel room. The staff were incredibly helpful, knowledgable and friendly. The free coffee machine was a blessing and served really good coffee too. In short I love this hotel and it will be hard to stay anywhere else in Reykjavik.

modern feel in the heart of the city

This is a new hotel, very comfortable and trendy. Right on the Marina. Restaurant is fantastic. Great food. Comfortable beds and nice rooms. Staff a little less than friendly compared to the 9 other hotels I stayed while in Iceland. Overall very nice and highly recommended.

Great hotel, Excellent service, Great location

My Wife and I stayed here for a long weekend. The hotel is very new with modern, quirky design. Rooms are comfortable although it must be noted that the bathroom is separated from the room with frosted glass sliding door. The hotel staff are very helpful, friendly, and always pleased to provide local knowledge, booking restaurants, etc. The bar and restaurant are full on Friday's and Saturday's as this seems to be the place to be seen in Reykjavik - in fact the reception area is converted to an extra bar area both these nights. There are many great restaurants and the heart of the old town within a very short walk, and the whale watching excursions vendors/start points are right next door to the hotel. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel and will be visiting again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try the excellent Steak House restaurant, 2 mins walk from the hotel. Booking recommended especially on Friday or Saturday. If a hand made burger is what you fancy, then there is a great place right next to the hotel.
