Great 2 day stay

Stayed here for 2 days before joining a 5 day tour. Great location just round the corner from the main street full of shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. A 20 minute walk in the other direction brings you to a fantastic swimming/spa pool. In our opinion a 'must do' in Reykjavik. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast with a selection of hot & cold. Daily 'happy hour' in the bar . Ate in the restaurant once and the food was lovely. Small bathroom but folding doors on shower created more space. Would definitely book this hotel again. No negatives whatsover.

Perfect for a cheap break

Great hotel for the price! Friendly staff always happy to help with booking busses/excursions or advice for where to eat. Room was basic: warm, comfy bed and clean bathroom. On the small/basic side, but I didn't go to Reykyavic to stay indoors! Only negative is the sulphur smell from the water, but learning how the water in Iceland is heated, no surprise and it didn't ruin anything. Breakfast is simply & plentiful..considering how expensive everything is in Iceland, you can't knock the breakfast for a freebie. Very good value for money in my opinion.

We got the Flybus+ to an from the hotel. The bus terminal is a 10/15 min walk, not that far- but with snow/ice the extra few quid is well worth it.

Was Ok.

The room was not even similar to the pictures on the website. Replay small bed, small bathroom, but was ok for a night.

Great welcome for weary travelers

After a long night of air travel, the staff was able to get us into a room much earlier than the 4 pm check so we could recuperate and enjoy the sites of Reykjavik. Once at the Lind we could walk to all the sites we wished to see in Reykjavik.

Good value and excellent receptionists

For our first trip to Iceland, we looked for mid-priced accommodation close to, but not in the middle of the main shopping/nightlife area of Reykjavik. The FossHotel Lind is just off one end of the main shopping street, Laugavegur. We got a good deal by booking 10 weeks ahead of our arrival. Our room was simply furnished and a second chair would have been appreciated. The beds (two singles pushed together) were very comfortable and the room was as warm as we wanted. The TV reception was poor and while the wifi connection was free, it was unreliable in our room but fine just a few feet down the corridor. There is a kettle and tea/coffee sachets in the room. The dining area for breakfast is very spacious and the range of food on offer at the breakfast buffet was the widest we have come across in hotels of the same class around Europe. There is a restaurant attached but we preferred to explore dining options around town. Icelanders seem very fond of putting artwork on every wall and the FossHotel Lind is no exception. The big plus for this hotel is the receptionist staff. Each of them was pleasant, courteous and very helpful with advice about tours, weather, etc. They booked several tours for us and when our first excursion to look for the Northern Lights was unsuccessful the receptionist on duty contacted the tour company to claim our entitlement to a second (free) trip - which was successful. We would be happy to stay at this hotel again.

Great value hotel in a ggod location

Great location only 5 minutes from shopping area of Reykjavik. Hotel offers great breakfasts - even when we had an early morning departure they gave us sandwiches and coffee before we left - a nice touch! All city sights are within easy walking distance. Recommend the Icelandic Fish and Chip Restaurant with their flaky cod and crispy potatoes cooked organically. Blue Lagoon is a must - but very overpriced. Golden Circle tour is excellent and gives great insight to the island, history, geology and culture - highly recommended.

Hotel located a bit east of the city centre. Dated but clean rooms. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is run-of-the-mill.

dirty room

Hotel room was not clean. Stains on the bedspreads and towels. Breakfast was poorly stocked. Tables were not cleared, you had to clear your own tables although there was staff around.
