Great Place
This was a very nice hotel and we would stay there again. I was able to park easily and the staff was extremely friendly. The only negative is that it is a little far away from the center, but it's not a big city. The breakfast was the best!

Really sweet and comfy hotel walking distance from downtown
The staff at Hotel Bjork was incredibly helpful and kind -- they booked excursions for us, arranged our shuttle to the airport, and were consistently helpful and polite. The hotel is a about a 15 minute walk from the thick of downtown's activity, so if you aren't a big walker or want to be able to pop into the room between activities, you may opt for something closer. My sister and I both live in big walking cities, so we didn't mind. Also, some of the walk feels a little desloate, but the country feels (and is) very safe, so this was not a problem for us.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Fish Market restaurant. About a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel, but one of the best meals I had in a long time!

Reasonable deal with some limitation
Not a bad experience considering the price. No problem with the bedding. But the bathroom was a bit too small. Shower and a toilet bowl was too close and divided by only one shower certain. After the shower, half of the floor in the bathroom was wet. But this may not bother you if you are going to thermal pools during your stay. Breakfast included and was reasonable. Enjoyable enough if you eat fish regularly. Staffs are not too bad, but did not help me to store the baggage to the baggage room which is onsite, but have to go outside and go down stairs with no escalator/elevator. Well, steps aren't too many, but it was very cold and windy outside and someone was painting the room at the same time. When I pick up my luggages, the front desk did the same, just handed over a key and did not offer any help getting them. If you are not picky about those small areas, this hotel is enjoyable enough.

Long walk from hotel
Downtown Reykjavik was within walking distance, but with cold temp and strong wind, it was not a pleasant walk. Doable for young and healthy people, but not recommended if you are not big on walking.

Great choice!
As other reviewers have noted, this hotel is not in the thick of it. But it's only a 10-15 walk to the city center and offers a nice respite for those looking for a more quiet location. The staff is fantastic. Dorota (day) and Johan (night) are especially helpful. Breakfast was standard but good. The restaurant itself serves great food. I had a seafood dish that was so tasty I thanked the chef in person! Overall, Hotel Bjork was/is a great choice! I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Nice & Clean
It was really nice that breakfast was included daily because eating in Iceland was expensive. If you are used to using a bar of soap when you bathe, wash hands, etc., take it with you. The room has dispensers of some type of soap that doesn't lather well. Location was a nice walk from downtown. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk downtown depending upon where you are going. Rooms were a good value for the money. Staff was extra friendly and helpful.

Good Value Overall
I had a one day layover in Iceland and just wanted a clean, budget hotel with Internet access. For the price, can't complain - good breakfast buffet, helpful staff, pretty comfy and spacious room though the bathroom door was a bit difficult to handle because it hinged to inside where there wasn't enough room.

The hotel location is fairly close to town center, staff are very friendly and helpful, the room is spacious, Wireless internet service is excellent. It is a good choice of comfortable stay in Reikyavik considering the resaonable price it is charged.
