A good clean friendly hotel. 01/08 TC Half the hotel is designed in traditional style which includes the main public areas and the remainder of the hotel was built in modern style. Good city centre location close to public transport and local attractions.

The restaurant is located beside reception on the ground floor pastthe coffee shop. It has an ornate high ceiling that dates back from when the hotel was originally built.

The Flavor of Gyor

The Rada is part of the Danubius group of hotels, a group that seems to have somewhat wobbly standards of what constitutes ... Quality (i.e. The Gellert in Budepest, which is a dump, and the Spa at Heviz , which is top notch). If you are travelling thru Hungary via train, it is very convient to the station, a coupla of hundred meters away but not in any way within earshot of the trains or in a dodgy neighborhood as one might imagine from other railway station area hotels. It is right at the begining of the charming and touristy pedestrian mall & close to what one wants from a European town--churchs, old, old buildings, medieval battlements, winding streets, etc. That being said, there isnt a whole lot of the above in Gyor, so you can see it all in a coupla days. The rooms are of the smallish central European variety, that is to say, weird furnishings & small. Hint: if you are there in summer, get one of the air conditioned rooms (not all of them are). Your stay will be much happier if you do. I must mention the attached Bierstube/Resturant...one of the best I've ever been to; a large selection of beers, good (but not great) food, and, get this, reasonably priced.
