Bathroom issues

The hotel itself was very clean and extremely close to the train station, however I had one issue which was my shower drain was clogged. The water would take forever to go down resulting in me taking 30 second showers so I didn't flood the bathroom (it was a handicapped shower, not a tub, so the water shoots straight down onto the floor). I showed the staff and the gentleman explained that it was "normal." After trying to explain to him that it was not normal and instead very clogged, I just gave up. I was hardly ever in my room. I spent maybe 2 hours a night there just to sleep. There is so much to do in Budapest and so much to see that I doubt you will be in your room to care that much. At least for me it was like that.

Buy the Budapest travel card. It was well worth the money as you can easily and freely use all the public transportation services with a one time fee by buying the card. (the exception being taxis)

Comfortable hotel close to Keleti station

I arrived at Budapest Keleti station late night and this hotel was a short 10 minute walk. It is located just off Rakoczi street which is a major artery that goes from Keleti straight to the city center. Room was comfortable although quite basic in terms of amenities. WiFi was fast and worked well which I always look for at places I stay. Breakfast is pretty good with a wide selection and the ambience is nice. Receptionist was fluent in English and helped with questions about sightseeing tour buses

The breakfast was superb, good variety and plentyfull

The room was cold, no heater and since the floor is bare we had a very cold night. The room and bathroom very little closet space. No drawers in the room and no useable shelfs in the bathroom. The bathroom had a smell to old urine.

Perfect place for us

This place is a great value for a reasonable price. My friend rated this 5 star on service and amenities. This place have wifi, small gym-can be improved, sauna, very clean rooms, breakfast buffet, and strategic location (close to bus stops and keleti train). Rowan and all other staff (in front and breakfast area) were very hospitable and helpful, providing assistance and answers to all our questions and needs (and impressive english). They assist reserving tours and trips, awesome!!! Keep up the good work Bristol!

a great location and a fair price

The breakfast buffet is not over the top but is very good, eggs, dried meats cheeses, breads very European and more than enough to satisfy a persnickety palate. The wifi is good and the AC is more than enough......

Wonderful Experience

Short walking distance to the Keleti Pu main train station, making it ideal for my purposes. The staff, whether front desk or cleaning, were all gracious and extremely helpful. There was one young man, Szabo Balazs, who was at the front desk every day. He spoke perfect English and was the best of the best. Delightful and gave the best advice. Loved my garret room. Breakfast was bountiful and delicious. On my 4th day I had a 6:00 am flight home so they packed a breakfast for me in advance. Will stay there again if back in Budapest.

A brilliant hotel

Whilst the area is not the best, it was quite convenient for getting to the town centre. However, the hotel was fantastic. The room was a reasonable size and was always clean and was very pleasant, including a 6 ft bed. We had to ask for a kettle but it was provided immediately. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and set one up for the day. I would certainly stay there again.

Great Deal

Great location and price. Very easy access to the train and tram made travelling in and out of the city very easy. The mall near the hotel (10 minute walk max) offered nice shopping and distractions from your typical site-seeing activities. Great experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking to get the most for their money.

The long awaited trip

The Hotel Bristol was a perfect fit for my first trip to Europe. It is perfectly located within walking distance to the train station and metro which will take you anywhere. The staff were amazing!!!! This trip would not have been as successful without their tireless efforts helping me navigate the city. The room was neat clean and had a small refrigerator. The only negative comment I will make was the number of TV stations available. I will most definitely stay here again!!!!
