A great budget yet good quality 4 star in a good central location - highly recommended! PL 11/09 This is a revamped traditional building. About ten minutes walk from the Hungarian Parliament building and the start of the famous Andrassy Street - great location in a good area.

Somewhat Disappointed

When you enter the hotel it's appearance is beautiful, but once you leave the lobby and go upstairs to the rooms, you see white or beige carpets that look oh so dirty with stains and such. This hotel is only two years old and the carpets are in dire need of replacement. We over heard one guest complaining to management about the state of the carpet. She said that the owner had been advised to no avail. In our room there was a huge red stain in front of the bathroom door. The young woman that cleaned our room worked very hard and cleaned and vacuumed the room daily but it never looked clean because you could not over look the red stain on the floor. The breakfast that was included in the package was unimaginative, everyday they served the same things. We were there for a week, so were tired of it by the time we left. The staff all tired to be helpful, but I guess if you are always having to deal with people complaining about the appearance of the hotel you would get a little bit defensive about it. We would stay there again as it is close to Margit Islands and Parliament House and walkable, or subway, bus or trams all close by. There are many good restaurants close by also.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are going to be in Budapest for one, two or more days, get yourself one, three or seven day pass for the subway, trams and buses. Very cheap if you are in a group of 5 or less ask for a group pass as it is half the price. The group must travel together as they only give you one pass if you get a group one.

Excellent stay at a great price

The hotel is very close to one of the central metro station, giving 20-minute access to almost every landmark. The room was very new and clean. Wired internet is available, so it's harder to get on the web with a tablet computer. Full buffet breakfast has a lot of variation and is taken in a pleasant setting. Staff is helpful and amiable when asked, despite appearing distant and uninterested. I got the impression this is a great hotel for families with children and business people as well. Definitely recommended!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try the walnut Kurtos Kalacsi (local sweet treat, around 400 HUF). There is a small pastry shop in the underground passage at Nyugati metro station - quality is excellent. "Serves two".
