Budapest

Location is central, with all 3 Metro lines stopping in front of the hotel. Andrassy Ut is 5 minutes away. British Embassy is a block away and Nobu Budapest is next door. Front staff is very professional and the fitness center is fully staffed. Sauna, steamroom and pool. The only complaint was housekeeping did not clean my room twice, which at this hotel level is not acceptable. Another complaint is that WiFi is for purchase. It is free in the bar but you are limited to afternoon bar hours. WiFi is free in midlevel hotels so for Starwood/Meridien to still charge for it is very annoying. There are ladies of the night who solicit outside the hotel late nights. Makes you wonder if the hotel really keeps an eye on who's entering the premises.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Vaci Utca and the restaurants around St. Istvan Cathedral are overpriced and not that good. I would recommend finding restaurants near the Oktagon neighborhood. Just make sure service is added or not to the bill. If service is added, some places will cover it with a staple.

Great location

Stayed 3 nights. Originally booked for 2 nights but decided to spend an extra. The hotel was understanding and compliant with this request and made our transition as easy as possible (had to move rooms but only just down the hall). Conveniently located in the middle of most places you'd want to visit in the city (Buda or Pest) with a Hop-On, Hop-Off bus stop just outside.

Very good

Great location, nice and spacious room, but a view of a wall from my window. The staff was wonderful and helpful. The business center offers free internet but the computers are old and the chairs are falling apart.

Beautiful hotel, centrally located

The hotel is very elegant with chandeliers and beautiful decor. The blankets and pillows were very fluffy and the bed was delicious. The location was in the upscale center of Pest and in walking distance to attractions.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Able to see the complete monumental attractions in the city in 2 days. You shouldnt bother with staying longer than that.Overall dining experience is not great. A large percentage of sites, stores, and restaurants are closed on the weekend. So dont visit budapest on the weekend!

Le Meridian Budapest

A good hotel but perhaps too expensive for what it delivers. It's well located and the staff is friendly. However, nothing that you couldn't find at more reasonable price. Food is delicious and fresh, but then again priced at a gourmet level. The pool and spa is ridiculously small for a 5 star hotel. At the same time you are paying for an expensive room but they still have the courage to charge for Internet access. Overall a good experience based on its location and service.
