Great Hotel in a convenient location

A stone's throw from the Parliament, this hotel was excellent. The smell as you entered it was fresh and clean and the staff were fantastic dealing with any issues superbly and exceeding expectations. The room was fantastic, modern and with great facilities and breakfast was fresh, tasty and there was a huge variety of things available. Well worth the money and would thoroughly recommend.

Great hotel

This is a great five star hotel at a very reasonable price. This was our second stay, and we had time to use the gym and the spa this time as well. Only two things could be improved: this time it was a bigger room, but it had a shower only, while the regular room had a much nicer tub. The TV channels could be improved with some movie channels or pay per view as currently the selection is very disappointing for a five star hotel.

Ideal Location

The hotel is in a great location, with a variety of very good restaurants and sights within a few minutes walk. It overlooks a nice square which does have live events and, in our case, big screens for the world cup. We were in a room overlooking the square on the fourth floor and you could hear some noise but it was minimal thanks to the excellent double glazing. The room was large, had a comfortable bed, a good sized bathroom with bath, excellent shower but I am not a fan of glass walls for bathrooms...even frosted ones..but that may just be me! TV had a few English channels and there was a mini bar and coffee machine. The Hotel was busy but we never heard much from the other guests. There is a small Spa in the basement, large Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and a small gym. The reception staff were excellent, very helpful. We also saw the Hotel manager a number of times and he clearly ensures high standards. The hotel was immaculately clean throughout. We had Breakfast included,it was OK but if I were to return I would stay on a room only and use the many restaurants nearby. Finally, if you contact the hotel direct, they can arrange a car to pick you up at the airport. We used the service for the return home and it was a Mercedes Benz with a good driver rather than the Fiat and the rather frantic driving we had booked through an on-line taxi company....and the same price!

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a small Bistro within a few minutes walk that has to be one of the best in the city, in addition there is a great pub/restaurant near the Peter Falk (Colombo) statue. Do one of the bus tours, ours included four routes, two river cruises, free soup, bike hire, and free beer! Check out the review sites.

Excess that's addictive.

I was startled by how much I loved this hotel. At check-in I walked into an oddly glam room that hadn't dated very well, in W Hotel style. Still, I was met with a drink and cold towel, so I suspected the hotel could be special. And then I went to my room. Brilliant. Gorgeous view, espresso machine, complimentary water, amazing waterfall shower, remote control lights, automatic curtains, red mood lighting -- I could go on and on. Adding to the experience, I didn't see another guest in the two days I was there. Fun, hip, luxurious, pampering, over-the-top fun. I'm going to miss the place..

Be careful at night, dangerous. Best you stuck to dinners , not nightclubs , bars, lounges, etc. too many scams, even cab drivers involved.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Buy a 2 day pass on the green and pink tourist busses...they are quite cheap (10,000 HUF each) and are the same price as the single lift to the church but let you go all around the city by bus and boat!!

Pretty great spot!

This hotel is right on a great little square just a few blocks from St Stephen's Basilica. We weren't huge fans of the hotel's style design but that's just a preference thing. The hotel itself is very luxurious. We had a deluxe standard room with a view over the park. Just super!!! Quiet enough but located very close to all things. One thing: breakfast is significantly overpriced. We found that you could walk out the door and down a block or two and find much cheaper delicious options. The staff was very helpful. We wouldn't change a thing. Good option for a good price.
