Galilei Hotel Budapest

I was first dissapointed when I checked in, I asked for the advertised complimentary breakfast and they told me that there was no breakfast because the restaurant was closed in the mornings for the season. I took that graciously,I checked into room 7 and though very dirty, at least the sheets were clean, I thought, no problem I'll clean it. This room had heat and hot water, great!!! One late evening, when I came back from a walk, I found all my clothes scattered all over the room. I was robbed!!! My brand new apple lap top was gone, along with my leather briefcase, my Dollars, my Euros and watch. At that point I learned that the window would not lock, and because the restaurant was already closed, I had to wait until the morning to tell them about it and to show them that the window would not lock. So the next day at 11:30 when they opened, I was told that "the Boss"would come in 50 minutes to see me about the situation -I'm still waiting for "the Boss" . After 5 hours I went down and asked if they were going to do something about it and when I saw no action I asked nicely for a room in which I could at least be safe. So I got another room, except this room had no hot water or heat, and I had to spend the week that I had left of my vacation in a freezing cold room with no hot water. I think this can give a clear picture of what this place really is. I tried to save some money by choosing the Galilei 'hostal' and I ended up loosing $2,500.00. And they did not even care. p.s. Not once -in two weeks- did anyone show up to service the room.

Galilei Hotel was excellent value for money. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. The rooms were basic but spacious and clean. The position of the hotel is fantastic. Situated on a pedestrian street close to all sites. Highly reccommend this hotel.

First of all this is not hotel - this is rooms in old building in center of Budapest. There is no reception at all. You should contact restaurant (!) management for keys. Actually restaurant owners lease rooms above of it.

This is not a hotel. It is a restaurant with one room. Access was dangerous and scarry. I intend to request the charges be reversed. We promtly returned the key and stayed at another hotel instead. Orbitz should not use this hotel.

Tämä hotelli ei ansaitse yhtään tähteä,ei tätä voi edes hotelliksi kutsua sanoisin enemmin yömaja.Erinomaisella paikalla,mutta jos tämän valitset petyt varmasti.

Valitsimme hotellin esittelyn/kuvien ja sijainnin perusteella. Huoneen renontti oli kesken eikä sitä oltu kalustettu eikä siivottu kunnolla. Siivooja ei käynyt viikkoon huoneessa. Mitään huonepalvelua tai internettiä ei ollut ja asiakaspalvelu oli huonoa. Taso oli lähinnä itsepalvelu retkeilymajan. Sijainti oli kuitenkin erinomainen.

This is a self declared 3* hotel. My experience: 1) No telephone in the room 2) No possible to have breakfast 3) During my 4 days stay. Not even once the room was cleaned or towels changed. I complained after 2 days but and they admitted that wasn't normal ... but nothing changed! Left the dirty room after 4 days! Worst experience ever!

Alte Räume halbherzig renoviert - geringer "Wohlfühlfaktor", kein Frühstück, Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich - aber leider keine Ahnung vom Tourismus. Wirklich nicht empfehlenswert.
