3 star location 2 star room

cannot explain how conviently located this hotel was to all the sites. green route bus stop and free river cruise just outside hotel (speak to reception for tickets). With regards to the room first we were given a twin room we went straight back to reception, second room was small and dark and Window looked into next doors balcony which at 5am they left there barking dog so again the next morning we moved rooms again. the two main faults with the rooms showers were grubby and there are no tea or coffee facilities. staff very friendly and free wifi. possibly would stay again only for the location.

Great for city break

Good location close to the city centre, able to walk to all areas quite easily. Hotel was comfortable, clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast kept us going through the day. Good value for money. Several good eating places just round the corner in Vaci street, Salt and Pepper do a great Goulash soup and Fatal do great traditional food as well. If you can, try the Karaly Turkish Bath in Fo Street on the Budapest side of the Danube near the Margaret Bridge, take your own swimming costume and borrow a towel.

Nice location

Stayed in this hotel for 8 nights. Gabor and Bela were very helpful in giving tips and information about the city. The location is conveniently located near Elizabeth bridge so you can be at Buda sides in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay in this hotel if I ever visited Budapest again. Paul(Jose) P.S. My only complain is the air condition is not working.

Good value in a central location

Although air conditioning was lacking, opening a window kept the temperature pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable, though dated. The breakfast buffet at the adjoining Matyas Pince restaurant was adequate, but not a standout. The location is near the pedestrian shopping street, tramlines, and subway, practically at the riverbank. A great base for seeing the city, at a good price.

Try the traditional Hungarian cuisine at the amusingly named Fatál Restaurant along the pedestrian mall of Vaci Street. (There's no danger. "Fatál" is Hungarian for "wooden plate.")

Good but need a little bit more!

Excellent service, I had bad luck because right now there is a construction just inf front of the hotel. The elevator it's just too tiny, and the shower uncomfortable, also they use a dispenser for shampoo and hands soap, and it's not the best. I can tell the location is perfect I walked in downtown all the time.

Great location

The hotel is very well positioned and is a very reasonably priced alternative to the big chain hotels that are expensive in the central area. Rooms are clean and functional, especially if you are looking for a base. There's nothing fancy about the rooms, but you get free wifi and free breakfast (I guess if you take that rate) and there are some amenities in the room.

Well-situated and priced, slightly down at heel

No complaints and good value. Well-situated near the Elizabeth Bridge over the Danube. But it's rather ' faded glory' now and could do with refurbishment.

Good value for the money

The hotel was located in a great location on the Danube, easily accessible to both the Buda and Pest sides of the city. Also minutes away are the Gellert baths and a shopping district full of street vendors and restaurants. Overall the hotel experience was well worth the price, considering that a number of much more highly priced hotels are located just blocks away.

Shopping tip: Not Applicable

Always try bargaining with street vendors to try to reduce the original asking price - if it doesn't work, the vendor down the block will probably have the same products for a better deal.
