Great location and value

proximity to MTR station and great price offsets the cramped quarters (which are to be expected anyways). Room is perfectly clean so there isn't really anything else to complain about.

Neat room at central location in Hongkong

Ibis North Point is exactly half a minute away from the North Point Subwaý station, and the Bus 11 runs 5 minutes from the hotel to and from the Airport. Very convenient location, can get to the touristy places and airport easily by public transportation. Hotel room is releatively small (but definitely enough for one person and narrow but sort of doable for two people, if neither is too picky about space). Room is very clean and neatly decorated. The harbor view room I had has nice view of Victorian Harbor. When the weather is good, very beautiful. Friendly staff speaking fluent English, Kantonese and Mandrin Chinese. Plenty of restaurants on the Java Streets and nearby streets of all price ranges, Chinese hongkongese dim sum, Japanese etc. Only two elevators for the 30 level hotel, so need to wait for a few minutes for elevator some times. But seriously, very very good deal for the price. Totally recommend.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Many restaurants. I went to a rice noodle place a few minutes walk away on Java street, and it was nice and not too pricey (about 25 hongkonese dollars for a big bowl of rice noodle soup with meat of choice, and very delicious). Fish egg not recommended.

Great value, great view...a gem!

Ibis Hong Kong, North Point, is a gem! It is a budget hotel but with lots of little extras like a free newspaper left at your door, free WiFi in your room, fresh toothbrush each day etc, and a restaurant on site, open til 9:30pm, which was great as we arrived late from the airport and needed a meal. We paid the extra $10 for a harbour view room and it was worth every cent. Our room on the 25th floor had a stunning view over Victoria Harbour to Hung Hom, suburban Kowloon and the cruise terminal. The hotel is attractive, light and airy, with clean comfortable rooms and friendly helpful staff. It is easy to reach by public transport as the A11 bus from the airport terminates at the North Point bus terminus opposite the hotel. (76 minute journey as the airport is quite a way out of town on another island). The Ibis is located on Hongkong Island, about 6 subway train stops from the Central District of Hongkong CBD and Central Ferry Terminal, with Star Ferries to Kowloon and other destinations. Both the train and ferry fares are cheap as chips, (about HK$6 - AU$1) The train station entrance is just a few doors from the hotel, in the same block, although there is a bit of a walk underground to the platform level. A short walk around the block from the hotel brings you to Marble Road, a narrow street full of jostling bustling local shoppers and traditional stalls of Asian groceries, fruit, and clothing etc, under colourful umbrellas, for a truly authentic local experience, with not a tourist to be seen! I would really recommend the Ibis Hotel Hong Kong.

No Frills, Clean, Good Value. A-ok!

Only 2 elevators for this tall hotel bldg, so you will WAIT longer than usual to get to the lobby. I stayed in a NON-smoking room, but I can still smell tobacco in the air. Clean single bed. Cheap and Clean. Location is near a train station -convenient.

Clean, safe, reliable.

Compared to other hotels on the same price level, ibis was the best. Staff was kind and ready when needed. It is close enough to main tourist spots on the north part of Hong Kong island. The only drawback was the poor soundproof between rooms.

Great value

I have no complaints about my stay at the ibis. Rooms were small by Western standards but average for Hong Kong, spotlessly clean, and great showers (always hot water and good water pressure). We stayed in a harbor view room and the view was worth the extra ten bucks. Staff were helpful and friendly. Location isn't central, but convenient to the airport, MRT, and ferries to Kowloon. Not a lot there in the way of restaurants.

Best crazy thing we saw: 10,000 Buddhas Monastery. You have to take the MRT up aways but it's worth it! Amazing temples/sculptures and some of the best vegetarian food ever.

Best experience

I got upgraded to a junior suite at check-in to 31st highest floor of the hotel boasting a great view. However, it was raining but I DO enjoy it. There are only two elevators so the service is not quickly expected. The hotel is very closed to the MRT North Point station exit A1. The airport bus from the airport is stop in the front of the hotel costing only $40 HKD. I would certainly stay here again if I visit HKG in the future.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Again the MRT North Point station exit A1 is a few steps from the hotel so it is very convenient to get around via MRT in Hong Kong. You can get a daily MRT pass for 55 HKD (around 7 USD) or a combo 3-days MRT pass and one or two express train trips from the airport to Hong kong station MRT for 170-250 HKD net respectively (21 USD-32 USD). the express train leave every 12 minutes for 24 minutes trip to HK station. The fare for one-way trip alone is 100 HKD(12 USD) and roundtrip is 180 HKD (23 USD). MRT is the WAY to get around.
