Wharney Guang Dong Hotel

Stayed in a twin room on 15th floor. The location in Wan Chai is good and bad. The hotel is close to the MTR station and is surrounded by bars and strip clubs. Lots of guay lo at night. The hotel is also a 10-15 min walk from the piers and the ferry to TST. It's also walkable to Times Square and the Sogo building in Causeway Bay if you can tolerate walking among tons of people along the entire way. The noise can get pretty bad on weekends from the drunken revelers, but we were always too tired to care. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom had piles of dust in one corner of the ceiling. The toilet was horrible at flushing - weak, slow to refill, noisy, and also difficult to flush. The shower was fine though. The entire room felt very old. We never felt comfortable in it and it always felt humid and had a slightly musty smell. The twin beds were rock hard. I did not get a single good night's rest and kept waking up due to pain in my back or hip or arm from laying on the hard surface. It was like sleeping on the floor. The bed was clean however. Free wi-fi in the room was convenient. Service was fine. They provide 2 complimentary bottles of water every day which was nice. The hotel is cheap considering its location, but it was not worth the savings to me. It may be if you are in your 20's or plan on passing out every night after partying. Otherwise, I would only advise using this hotel for short stays.

It was very nice time there. Good quality for good price. I would recommend it.

Hotel staff was a bit average. Not what I have come to expect from a Hing Kong hotel. The room was OK. The bed was very hard, but I survived. the bathroom was very dated.

Hotel was in great area for bars, restaurants, MTR station and a close walk to the convention center. If you over look the Red Light District you can not go wrong with this hotel.

The hotel was great near a subway stop but its in a Times Sq type neighborhood. Perfects for younger bar-hoppers or business men looking for female companionship. The hotel itself is perfectly fine and very professional and well maintained.

It is easy to go Hong Kong Exhibition center. that is nice.

Clean and good size room, short distance to convention center, reasonable price.

the stay was good and comfortable. however there is a lot of noise at night. Also the hotel doesn't provide the guests with shampoo, conditioner, comb... and some other basic toiletries. I asked for a king side bed but they gave me two singles. There is no real room service food, like a basic menu you can order from 24h.
