A quiet locale sandwiched between Kowloon Park and Victoria Harbour
This gilded gift-box of a building occupies an enviable location on the bank of Victoria Harbour. Convenient to subway and ferries, the hotel still manages to be relatively quiet. Guests can easily stroll to Kowloon Park and nearby museums or Harbour City shopping mall. At the end of the day, enjoy a cocktail and harbor views on the Pierside bar patio.
Highlights
- Harborfront location with spectacular views and alfresco dining
- Direct access to China-Macau Ferry Terminal
- Central, but quiet location in Tsim Sha Tsui
Rooms
Even standard rooms come with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city. The hotel's larger rooms and suites, some recently renovated, are blessed with views of the harbor, city and Kowloon Park. Both wired and wireless Internet access is available in all rooms, where decor ranges from simple to sumptuous. Guests in the tower wing may use the club lounge (fees apply), which includes complimentary buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.
Features
With a location slightly removed from the busier sections of Tsim Sha Tsui, the Royal Pacific is relatively quiet. Standing between the harbor and Kowloon Park, the hotel's location translates to beautiful views on all sides. Have an alfresco aperitif at Pierside bar before a Malaysian and Singaporean dinner at Satay Inn, just two of the in-house restaurants. Venues for corporate and social events, a respectable fitness center and business center round out the facilities.

Construction Noise All Day, Every Day
I stayed 4 nights on the 12th floor of the main hotel (there are 2 towers; this one was the one away from the main lobby) and there was awful construction noise every day including Sunday. I was not given any prior warning and only learned of it when I reached my room. There was a memo in the room explaining it would happen, but stating that it would not happen on Sunday. Well, Sunday was just as noisy as the other days. Ordinarily,, I would not be in my room during the day while on vacation, but with a 15 hour time change from LA (and a 14 hour flight over), I needed a daytime nap now and then. This was totally unacceptable - it impacted the entire floor, not just my room. I will not stay at this hotel again, ever.

Business Convenience
I travel frequently through Hong Kong and have always considered this location but never stayed. This trip, I needed an early departure to Mainland China and this location is literally attached to the China Ferry Terminal. I was very pleasantly surprised with the hotel and staff. Unfortunately during my stay, the hotel restaurant and bar are being renovated so I wasn't able to experience- however I would certainly return again.

If you are leaving for the mainland, you cannot be closer to the China Ferry Terminal. You simply walk downstairs. Shopping and restaurants are all within walking distance as well.

Nice
I like to stay here because of the excellent location across from Kowloon park, the Harbour city malls, and proximity to everything else in TST. If your focus is on Hong Kong island proper, then you can do better. When you get an upgraded room it's great, spacious and comfortable. When you get their ordinary rooms it is OK.

Convenient, but some drawbacks
I booked this hotel because I was scheduled to take a ferry to China the next morning after arriving in Hong Kong. The hotel is right above the China Ferry terminal and is therefore very convenient for this purpose. The downside to being so close is the noise of the ferries entering and leaving the piers and the PA announcements from the terminal, all of which is very noticeable if you have a harbor view room even on the top floor and it can disturb your sleep. The rooms are being redecorated and modernized so try and get one of those if you can as the older rooms are definitely looking dated now. The restaurants are ok, nothing special. The breakfast buffet is good but service can be over efficient as if you leave the table to browse the offerings by the time you get back to your table everything will be gone and the table reset for someone else! The location is close to the main Tim Sha Tsui shopping district and the Star Ferry terminal to Hong Kong Island, both about a 5 min walk . By Hong Kong standards, this hotel is ok and provided you can book far enough ahead the price is acceptable for what you get and the location.

Great location and renovation
Seems they have renovated this hotel since a few years ago. The rooms look great and are comfortable. Since the hotel was not too busy I think we received an upgrade - this part was not exactly clear. For Hong Kong standards the room and bathroom were big and very comfortable.

The hotel's room is a little bit
The hotel's room is a little bit small but the location and cleanliness are great. Wi-fi access is fast. We just encountered a little bit slowness in checking-in but the whole stay was absolutely great!

It was lovely to return to Asia
It was lovely to return to Asia from America and be welcomed in an hotel that has thought out all of the requirements of the guests and provided them without looking after the owner's buck first! This hotel is ideally located for harbour City shopping, Nathan Road and the Kowloon Park and the Star Ferries to go across to the island and yet it is a peaceful haven just outside the hubbub of the other lively areas
