The Worst Hotel I Have Ever Experienced

3 false fire alarms on the first 2 nights staying at this location. The Third alarm went off at 1:30 in the morning. Needless to say everyone staying in the hotel was in the lobby and angry. The staff refused to contact the owner to provide real answers for the 70 people demanding them. The police were called, and still the staff didn't seem to care. After 2 hours a local called the media which seemed to upset the staff: but still no answers or even an offer to comp that nights stay. Eventually the owner showed up at 4 in the morning and promised it wouldnt happen again provided no one turned off the air conditioning and took a shower. First that is an absurd request. Second it was 50-60 degrees in Hong Kong during our stay. There was no heat provided what so ever. The entire operation is run by amateurs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

Hang out at the bars in Wan Chai. Go after 10pm to Amazonia, or Joe Bananas and strike up some conversations with some fun people. You won't regret it.

Never and ever stay in this hotel

I am a frequent businness traveller and stayed many hotels all over the world... This was the worst hotel I ever stayed... It's never worthed four stars first of all and has the wierdest rooms I ever seen...even it was a upgraded room, and the funniest part is I asked for ices and they told me to go 7Eleven cross the street to get ices.... I dont even want talk about their breakfast salon...

not quite boutique

calling this a boutique hotel is a serious stretch. More like modern converted apartments. All glass bathroom is weird. Especially when the windows are open. No amenities.

Average hotel in good location in Wan Chai area

Overall, there is nothing exceptional about this hotel but also nothing too negative. Hotel staff was helpful when needed but never going beyond their duty. Hotel rooms were not dirty but not clean. Cleaning staff decided on a daily basis what towels they would replace. And continental breakfast was OK if nothing else to eat. The location was great, within walking distance of convention center and subway station.

Too expensive

Rooms were small but that`s pretty much the case in all hotels in HK. For the price we paid, I think they can do better w/ breakfast.

A very frequent traveler from N.Y.

First off realize i was in Hong Kong a bustling citywith traffic ,horns blowing ,and lots of people.Im a very Very frequent traveler and use to staying in high end hotels ,i didnt want to spend 200 plus for a room so i chose the Regal IHotel. The hotel part of the building (some local business on higher floors) is brand new , no prior reviews [...]The rooms were a bit small but in my travel experience thats kind of normal for Asia ,and Europe as well. The room had a mini fridge and microwave i didnt use.Looking out the windows is the city and buildings ,which is fine ,it is the city afterall. Some items in the room were not finished yet as there was no curtain over the glass bathroom walls.I was alone so privacy was not an issue but friends i was with were sharing a room and had to cover the glass walls with bed sheets and this worked as a temporary fix.I dont get the glass bathroom deal ive seen it before it dosnt make sense. There was construction going on . On two nights it was 24 hours of work and sleeping was impossible ,for myself and others staying in the hotel. This is temporary ,but should have been noted .That said the hotel room was fairly quiet for a city hotel, very clean ,and an excellent location. There is a small restaurant on the ground floor called the Icafe where i had continental breakfast ,full breakfast was available also and it was all good.Walking out the front door, the harbor was a 4 minute walk behind where you could hop a ferry to Kowloon or anyplace else on the harbor.Causeway bay ten minutes to the left straight down Hennessy Blvd ,great shopping ,super deals ,great local food.I followed Anthony Bourdains eating experiences through Hong Kong and it was all within walking distance. The train system was 2 minutes walk to the right as well as the bus station .If your inclined to ride instead of walk you could be at any of the above mentioned areas in one or two stops ,including Kowloon.I rode the train to Disney Land within 15 to 20 minutes.I rode the bus to Ocean Park and The Peak ,piece of cake very easy to use all the transit system.OverallI Recomend this hotel to other travelers.Location--Excellent ,get out and walk the blocks around the building lots of markets and local shops.Transportation--Excellent ,Taxi ,Train ,Bus , Electric Tram ,right at your doorstep.I would definately stay here again.I rate it a easy 4.0 out of 5 and im a picky traveler.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The seafood is so fresh the local markets have live fish and shrimps and anything else you can think of so eat the seafood.Small local eateries everywhere.Dont be afraid to go in.They all look a bit scary. I like eating where the locals eat and once you get by the appearance the food is spectacular.Bring alot of wet wipes as they dont use napkins .Go to Under Bridge Spicey Crab on Lockhart towards Causeway Bay ,have the spicey Crab or Mantis shrimp or anything else on the menu ,its all excellent.I pigged out every night and ate everything it was a spectacular eating experience for me.

This hotel is fine. One thing

This hotel is fine. One thing that one need to know is that there are no walls to the bathroom/toilet, but a see-through glass wall. We thought that it was cheap not to include two bottles of water each day, but otherwise we has a very nice stay at the hotel. The breakfast was simple, but did its job.
