Excellent hotel.

The Nathan is in Kowloon about a 20 minute walk from the harbor. It's very close to Night market, the Jade market and just a couple blocks from the Jordan stop on the Metro. The service and room was terrific. Spotless, well-designed, roomy for HK and completely quiet. Book a Nathan Room, which costs a little extra, but you get a great breakfast in the rooftop restaurant and use of the Nathan lounge--which has computers and complimentary fruit juices and coffee, and free wireless in your room as well. The gym is small but open 24 hours. I used the treadmill for an hour each morning and was all by myself.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Directly across the street in the sub-basement of the Eaton Hotel there's a terrific dim sum restaurant--it's on level B2.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

When bargaining at the night market, start your offer at half their asking price and walk away if you think it's too high. Often buying more than one item will get you a better price.

Great Deal

The hotel is situated on Nathan Road between Mong Kok and TST. This is perfect for travelers because you'll be walking distance from 2 popular tourist attractions, the harbor view and Ladies Market. The service and rooms are exceptional. It's not a Four Seasons, but Nathan's staff is friendly and helpful. I will recommend this to everyone who is visiting HK.

Fantastic location, very friendly staff.

We booked a Nathan room, which I highly recommend for its decor, access to the Nathan lounge and free breakfast. The renovated Nathan rooms are beautiful, but it would seem that the renovations were done some years ago as rooms are starting to show a bit of wear & tear (traces of mould in the shower, carpet starting to feel dingy). The staff was above reproach: not only helpful but extremely kind. The breakfast was hot and delicious: the menu varies daily so you don't get bored. I would have really loved a bathtub in the room as it would have been nice to soak my weary muscles after days and days of walking around HK, but the bathrooms are modern and clean.

Short Stay at Nathan Hotel

I stayed in the Grand Nathan Room. You pay extra for a bigger room, free breakfast and free internet. I think it's worth the extra if you have 2 or more people in the room. The hotel condition is just average, but the location is excellent.
