An authentic, vintage 1960's old Chinese residential building with splashes of colonial architectural style (e.g. small balconies facing the main street). It was carefully restored without touching anything that can make it less authentic right down to the 60s-style floor tiles and railings, raw concrete walls, basic and simple old Chinese dcor, and honest 1960's utensils and toiletries. You'll be able to LIVE like how it was lived in 1960's old Hong Kong. But as with any AUTHENTIC experience, there comes the sacrifices, for example, rooms tend to be smaller and more crampy any less so and it will not be a REAL 60's Hong Kong building.

And there is NO ELEVATOR, which is not available in most 1960's Hong Kong residential buildings; instead you walk up the stairs like everybody else before you decades ago at most 5 stories, the average height of old Hong Kong buildings!

So if you plan to bring heavy luggage, request a room from a lower floor. Amenities providing by the property are Business center, Concierge, Currency exchange, Dry cleaning, Internet access High-Speed, Internet access Wireless, Lift / Elevator, Laundry service, Lobby, Non-smoking rooms, Reception, Safe deposit box and Secretarial services. You get what you pay for

Pros: -Great location -Clean -Friendly staff. Cons: -Tiny room by any standard (I'm from NYC), claustrophobic small. Can only walk on 1 side of the bed. -elevator does not service all parts of the hotel. expect to drag your bags up and down stairs. -they don't just take your credit card, the authorize a $500 deposit when you arrive. There's nothing in the room or minibar to justify this. -bathroom so small you can not sit on a toilet. You have to turn sideways. I'm serious. -2 porthole size windows in the bathroom. Partially open to a dirty back alley. -bathroom so small sign says close door as stream will set off fire detector -not enough room to even open your suitcase. forget about having 2 people in the room. -i like a hard mattress but this was like a board. even exhausted and jet lagged it was not a comfortable sleep. -felt unsafe is there was a fire or something trying to get out. the whole place was confusing and claustrophobic. Conclusion: Expect ridiculously small room, confusing layout, no lift. Stairs. Good price for $100US or less. Great location. Clean. Staff was friendly.

Great location to pick up the tram and go either way to shopping or central. Easy to catch a taxi right out the door.

Needs cleaning and small. But perfect location.

Wore out and dirty wall. No laundry service. The room is really tiny. But the location is perfect since work is about 8 mins walk.

The smallest room I've ever stayed

I booked this hotel based on the good reviews. However, it is very disappointing. Although the price is ok, the room is like a walk-in closet. The pictures on the website is quite misleading. There is hardly any space for luggage. The double bed occupied most of the room. Then there is a tiny corner for a small desk. The bathroom is tiny too. If you are above average size, you can hardly turn around.

Small, stylish rooms

Had a balcony room overlooking lively Wan Chai Road. The room was quite compact, shall we say, and we had trouble fitting our (somewhat large) suitcases in the room. But this is a common aspect of hotels in Hong Kong. The room itself was clean, decorated with interesting mid-20th Century touches, and did the job. Smallest sink I've ever seen in the loo, though.

Good Location

Had one night in Hong Kong. Wanted to stay in Wan Chai and this hotel was the cheapest around. However, the rooms are tiny, if functional. Lots of nightlife within walking distance, so that's about the only great thing about this hotel.
