Metropark Hotel Kowloon hotel offers good value for its class. Though not in the city center, the hotel runs a complimentary shuttle to both Tsim Sha Tsui and Mong Kok. Guests accustomed to using public transport find the walks to several nearby MTR stations to be short and pleasant. Refurbished rooms have a fresh, yet '80s feel, some with complimentary breakfast and happy hour drinks. Additional perks include a rooftop swimming pool and free Wi-Fi in public areas such as lobby, restaurants and at the Club Floor..

Rooms

Refurbished rooms have benefited from new carpeting and furnishings, while retaining decor reminiscent of the 1980s. Even standard rooms at this tidy hotel feature in-room safes and bathtubs in the bathrooms. All rooms boast free wired Internet access. Rooms on the club floor are the same size as non-executive floor rooms but include complimentary breakfast, happy hour drinks and snacks, plus use of the modest Metropark Club Lounge.

Property features

A distinct '80s look and feel defines the design of this hotel, from the lobby art to the comfortable retro rooms. Both the small fitness center and heated rooftop pool (closed for maintenance in January and February) have been newly renovated. Situated in a quiet section of Kowloon, the hotel is a 10-minute walk from several MTR stations and Nathan Road. Complimentary hotel shuttles whisk guests to nearby Mong Kok and Tsim Sha Tsui for shopping and sightseeing. Need more of these in the USA

The staff was very accommodating and helpful. Rooms are small but that is pretty normal for Hong Kong. I was given the option to upgrade to something bigger with other options but I tend to not stay in the room much. Every day the room is well attended to. And best no surprises. I would stay there again.

Nice hotel, little out of the way

The hotel itself was nice. Staff were courteous and helpful and easy to communicate with in English. Room was good size, not large by American standards but fine by Asian standards. Has wired internet, which they provided a cable for. Airport Express train has free shuttle from Kowloon station to hotel. There are several restaurants, a bakery, and convenience shops nearby. The only negative thing is it is about 1 km (10-15 minute) walk to either Mong Kok or Yau Ma Tei subway stations, which makes it annoying to get to and from. (There are probably buses that alleviate that, but I didn't investigate the bus system.)

Watch out for extra charges !

I'll start with the good points of this hotel, the room on the whole was very clean, spacious and the housekeeping was excellent. The location was generally pretty good specially by taxi, although the nearest metro was a good 15 minute walk in the stickey heat. I pre ordered a transfer from the airport to through the hotel, upon arrival I found the transfer desk closed and no one there or around the desk to be of any help, the cost of the transfer was to be HKD110 per person but as no one was there we paid for a taxi and ended up getting taken advantage of for HKD400.
