Great Hotel with an Excellent Location

Great value for the suite we had. Half the cost with twice the space of other hotels in the area. Great location to shopping in Hong Kong. Staff was generally very helpful. Our suite had plenty of windows for natural lighting. Unfortunately the views were obstructed by other, unattractive buildings. And the hotel elevators are you by mall shoppers so prepare to wait for a lift to your room during busy times. Besides the minor inconveniences, we had a great stay and would recommend the Marco Polo to anyone.

Marco Polo: not the best experience

strong smell of perfume throuhout the hotel, as if trying to cover a tobaco smell which sometimes comes through. Unhelpful registration staff. Situated in noisy area of HK. Good breakfast choices.

Business Trip

Overall a pretty nice hotel. The location was perfect because my office is in Jordan, just a quick walk through Kowloon park. Especially enjoyed being so close to the star ferry over to HK island. Cons: The check-in process is extremely inefficient and the business center does not open until I think 8 or 9....They would not open it early at 7.

I'll be back. UPGRADE TO DELUXE CONTINENTAL.

I love this hotel. The location is perfect. We upgraded to a deluxe room in the continental floor for US$90, which was totally worth it. It came with a bigger room, free breakfast, free tea and crumpets and all the stuff that comes with it (2-4 pm), and free flowing drinks and appetizers (5-8pm). It was so worth the $90 because it took care of pretty much most of our meals. You can also check out other restaurants, but since I was in HK to shop, this place was perfect. The room was awesome. Clean bathrooms. Towels smelled fresh and not bleaches. Towels were also thick. That's important. Shampoo and lotion etc was QUERCUS, which is one of my fave luxury brands. From now on I'm only staying at the Marco Polo Hong Kong hotel. Oh, and in the Continental Club floor, they check you out there as well so you don't have to go to the lobby to do that. It was all so convenient. There's a shuttle to the airport express but the Elements mall is so close by it's easier to take a cab. The free ride stops by several other hotels before you get to the mall so it's kind of a hassle. So just cab it. MTR is also really nearby. Pretty much outside the hotel.

50 yrs old hotel with lmpolite service

In the morning! None of the hotel employee know how to say Hello or Good-morning to customer! Service attitude impolite, at one time, even asking me whether I am living in this hotel or not, hardly helping customer handling luggage. Privacy Security is worst, hence, one of my business friend attempt to allocate which room I stay. The hotel employee in the front desk simply release the information without asking any question to a stranger. While the time we are check-out from the hotel, the desk clerk attempt to withheld our cash deposit without release it. Wiseguy type to play dumb with their pay quest in hoping that we may forget to ask the money back. Hong Kong is a busy city, most people are working 12 hours on their job, however, it is not a good excuse to treat someone who is visiting here.

Life is good, let us share it. Money simply means nothing, just enjoy it. Twelve hours job can not upgrade the Hong Kong city better, even all the class of world brand top-notches goods are here for a group of heavy loaded corrupt $$$ shoppers from Shanghai. It was not the true face of Hong Kong in the old days. A word from an ancient traveller. (Smile, friends!) LOL

Excellent location in Hong Kong

The Marco Polo has a great location for shopping, restaurants and access to ferries that take you to Central and Macau. The room was much larger than expected and had a great view looking over the harbor. The staff was always very helpful although the concierge made a bad call regarding a restaurant (Partly my fault as I waited until Saturday evening to find a place).

Shopping in the immediate area is great, but it is all very high end. Unless you're Bill Gates, it's best to make a day trip to the markets.

Reasonably priced in Hong Kong

Was in Hong Kong for a conference which took place across the harbor at the IFC Mall 4-Seasons Hotel. The Marco Polo was very well priced and much more convenient that staying at other hotels on the HK-island, because it is around the corner from the Star Ferry that takes you across the harbor and just minutes walk from the IFC Mall.
