Quiet nights in Causeway Bay with easy access to cosmopolitan action

This Causeway Bay hotel has a felicitous location between Happy Valley Racecourse, a wealth of shopping centers and the Wan Chai business district. The hotel staff are the stars of this show, elevating the classiness of the hotel. Standard rooms may be modest in size and decor, but upgraded rooms are a palpable step up in luxury. Quiet nights promote proper rest, but several nearby public transport options put travelers at the heart of business, shopping and tourist districts in minutes.

Highlights
  • Watch horse races at Happy Valley Racecourse from guest rooms
  • Location is quiet at night, but offers nearby access to tram, MTR and ferry
  • A total of 3,785 square feet of configurable meeting and event space
  • Use of smart phone with 3G internet and personal hotspot for multi-device connectivity, local calls and IDD calls to US, UK, Australia, Singapore, China, Korea, Malaysia

Rooms
On one side of the hotel lies the Happy Valley Racecourse, and on the other side, windows are fashioned with blasted-sand windows. The location of the hotel creates a quiet zone for peaceful sleep. All rooms have Wi-Fi access and smart phone. Standard rooms meet the fundamental needs of travelers with satellite TV, in-room safe and the added perk of a pillow menu. Higher-end rooms and suites have views of the racecourse and city, with enriched decor and additional space for work or relaxation.
Features
The excellent service shines as brightly as the sparkling lobby. Adjoining the lobby is the intimate 3T bar, whose outdoor patio lets patrons relax over drinks while soaking in the street life. Diners sample delicious Sichuan and Huai-yang cuisines at on-site He Jiang. A small fitness center and two 24-hour business centers serve in a pinch, while the Foot Joy Club treats weary feet with the pampered attention they deserve. The hotel's little touches add up to great value in Causeway Bay.

Good Hotel in Good Location

Stayed in a Grand de Luxe room on 21st Floor. Good sized room for Hong Kong. En suite is adequate. Broadband was included and met my needs. Cleaning very good. Shuttle service very useful. Breakfast was often a challenge - queues. All in all, a good experience and one I will repeat.

2 nights in Aug 2014

I stayed here for 2 nights from August 29-31. There is not much immediately around the hotel but it is in a good location. It is about a $25 hkd cab ride to the hong kong train station that will easily take you to the airport. The concierge was friendly and informed me that the hotel is under renovation and that there would be noise from 10am-6pm in my room. The room was nice but very small. The full size bed too up most of the space in the room. There was no ironing board or iron which was a bummer.

Best ground crew in Hong Kong.

The front desk staff vary in their commitment to customer service. Professional standards should be consistently evident no matter who is at the front desk. On the plus side, the ground crew are the best in the city. The luggage handlers do their work with impressive skill and consideration for guests. The hotel greeters, door openers, and room cleaners keep the hotel running smoothly and make people feel welcome. The downside during the summer of 2014 was hotel renovation/ construction, which went on June - August. In June, during our first stay, it was hard to get a good night's sleep. In August, during our second stay, moving up to a high floor made a big difference in the noise level. Also be sure to get a room away from the tour groups in which adults and children treat the hallways as an extension of their rooms (yelling, slamming doors and generally disregarding the "Please do not disturb" signs on other guests' doors.) Off season, the hotel will be quieter. The location is fine for people willing to walk to Times Square to catch the MTR.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Try to get off the beaten track of tourist shopping, which seems to us the least interesting aspect of Hong Kong. Take the MTR and then walk to temples and villages for a more meaningful experience.

Busy hotel in Happy Valley

Pleasant clean comfortable hotel with big room by Hong Kong standards. Price was exceptional. Especially if your stay extends to over 5 nights. It's a pleasant 5 minute walk to Times Square where there is everything a shopaholic may want to find.

I made my reservation for 3 adults and one child with the breakfast included., i paid in advance for this but the hotel didn't respond for this, they just gave me 3 tickets per day. I paid the other breakfast in cash, The money it was no the problem, the attitude it's the real one.

Great lair for exploring Hong Kong

Upgraded to a Grand Deluxe Room (GDR) immediately upon arrival. GDR rooms newly refurbished. Very homely & comfortable if a bit to "Chinesey" for my taste. Fabulous, no exceptional, view of Happy Valley and HKJC course. Endless hours of staring out of the full length windows during the day and all night long. Dining room and food less than ordinary but with Times Square a 5 minute walk away with 10,000+ eateries who cares!

Interesting stay...

Just a heads up it is near a huge cemetery. And wifi is not free and pretty expensive. They have wifi downstairs and in the restaurant but honestly it's nicer to have it in the room for a decent price. The staff was really nice and helpful. Our room was clean and well kept. It was small but comfortable.

Best value

While it is not the best in terms of comfort; staff a little chaotic; lobby little crazy; Internet snail-paced; you cannot beat the value. I highly recommend it for the price you pay.

This hotel is cheap for HK. The main problems that we had at this hotel is that the room smells like mildew and the drainage was somewhat clogged.
