I had a lot of fun at the hotel. The rooms overlook a garden. In the morning, you can see the city dwellers practicing Tai Chi. The rooms are clean, and the hotel is located only a block away from the MTR subway station.
This was a great place to stay. Room was clean and well maintained, housekeeping was responsive to requests. The Movies on Demand function wasn't working and they refunded my money without problem. However, they never did get it fixed. Also: be
warned: this is a VERY difficult location to get a taxi in the mornings and evenings so allow extra time for that. Also, the hotel won't do anything to help you get a taxi...you are on your own.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
Short walk from hotel
There is a street adjacent to the hotel with lots of great restaurants.
We spent five nights at the City Garden at the end of July 2010 on the 22nd floor facing north. Staff is very attentive, free bottled water in room appreciated. Clean, upgraded, lots of room. Very convenient to Fortress Hill subway stop, trams,
buses and taxis. $40 pp direct bus to Hong Kong airport stops two blocks from hotel. Many on staff speak English.
The hotel has music in the bar every night The breakfast is various and the breakfast space is modern and light. Many chinese buisnees travelers and people form the mainland use the hotel. Its a good starting point to visit the various locations in
Hong Kong. The subway station Fortress hill is just around the block. The famous trams are also just around the block in Oil street. Oil street is quite a long street and has many shops too.Behind it there is also a market where you can pick up cheap stuff. This area is mainly dedicated to the locals with their Philippine housemaids. Its more Hong Kong without tourists.also from there its easy to go to Kowloon with the subway (MTR)HK$10.50 or take a taxi+/-HK$
