Dining
- Tony's Mar
- Tip: Their well-known dish is a filleted tilapia fish filled with shrimps. Very original and, more importantly, very tasty. Tony's Mar is the best seafood restaurant in the city. They prepare fried fish the way it is eaten on the north coast.
- Café la Plazuela
- Tip: This casual modern eatery has soups and light meals, and a happy hour from 17:00 to 19:00. A total interior renovation meant the place was closed when we were in town, but the menu and sharp atmosphere should remain the same. It hosts periodic event
- Café Paradiso
- Tip: International films shown on Wednesday from 7pm. Every Thursday they have a book presentation at the same time. Just the place for a coffee after work, frequented by businessmen.

- Restaurante Ibiza
- Mediterranean and spanish food.
- El Patio
- Tip: Try their famous dish 'El Conquistador'. It's a bit of a challenge: meat kebabs, beans, cheese, rice and chismol all on one plate. One of the best places to go for a taste of authentic Honduran food, with a wide variety at reasonable prices. Decor
- La Creperia
- Tip: For dessert, try the Boston Cheesecake crepe. The small terrace with a view of the city is a very romantic place to have dinner. There are salads, meat dishes and pasta on offer as well as crepes.
- La Cumbre
- Tip: Reservations are essential. The international cuisine (mostly European/German specialties) is exquisite and the view from the balcony is possibly the best in the city.
- Azulejos
- Azulejos Restaurant brings out our theme nights offering international cuisine where you can choose your favourite dishes from our buffet.

Bussines Trip
Even when i called in advance to have my room ready at 1pm that they did confirm, when i arrived the person in the front desk said i was lied to and had to sit in the lobby for 2 hours until it was ready. All they offered was a free drink at the bar and i don't even drink. My last night i received a call at 1am that the smoke detector was giving the fire department an alert and that security was outside my door and had to come in my room no matter what. With no option given to me even when i explained there was no fire and i was asleep they came in anyways and looked around then left without even an apology for such a rude disrespect for my privacy. This is the first and last time i stay at this hotel, the Plaza San Martin is much more comfortable and better priced.

Money-saving tip:

You have to negotiate with Cab Drivers, have the Hotel call them for you and ask Hotel staff what a reasonable fare would be for where you are going. Exchange money at the hotel, the money exchange at the airport give you a less favorable rate.

Honduras relaxation vacation
I had a marvelous time in Honduras it was a very relaxing get away and the women are very beautiful and exotic. The hotel was excellent with a very professional staff. The only problem I had was speaking spanish I would recommend either learning the language are having a translator with you. I had neither and my stay was still great but could have been better if I had spoke the language.

Sweet and Friendly
Hello, everyone was very pleasant from the driver, to the bellperson, then desk clerk . All the girls at the restaurant and my maid, she was very sweet. I had a pleasant experience, specially since the airline lost my luggage and I didnt get it until the next day. Everyone was helpful and understanding.

Great Place for Solo Ladies & Executive Families
I stayed on the executive floors of the Tegucigalpa Real Intercontinental hotel, for a night or two each, at the beginning and end of my 2-week stay in Honduras. I hadn't been to Honduras before and the only tourist guide that I could find, written in 2007, rated this hotel as the best in town -- with 4 stars. I went for both business and pleasure. As a female traveling alone, I wanted a comfortable, safe place for getting my bearings. The 8th (smoking) and 9th (non-smoking) floors had additional security, requiring an electronic room keys for access from the elevators. Both floors offered in-room computers but no mouse. On my first stay, a tech was able to find one for me. On the second, none was found so I had to use the finger pad attached to the keyboard. Both rooms had hairdryers in the bathroom with full tub, shower, vanity, and lots of courtesy toiletry items including razor, shaving cream, etc. There was also a coffee pot and small bar area in the room, as well as a large desk, and comfortable chairs in the sitting area. The views were spectacular in every direction. The 8th floor room key provided access to the executive lounge and personalized check-in service as well as a big-screen TV and fresh coffee, espresso, or tea for most of the day. The executive lounge was also manned by several fellows bi-lingual in Spanish, English, and several other languages. Individual cups of coffee and espresso were served on request and there was always a bowl of fresh fruit. Afternoon tea, in the executive lounge, included a wonderful variety of pastries that were constantly replenished, fresh, and the tea time lasted for hours. There was an additional happy hour, later; and breakfast included a bountiful variety of foods and freshly made juices. The pool area was very comfortable, including netted beds for lounging and a nice wading area for smaller children. There were three wonderful restaurants, not too expensive, off of the pool area so that one could dine inside or out. There was also a gym, but I didn't find the time to go look at it. There is an market within walking distance but it's considered a rough area to be avoided by tourists. However, directly across the street, with plenty of security, was a wonderful enclosed mall with anything anyone could want, including a cluster of banks with additional security in and around them. In some countries, I've found the security to be somewhat intimidating, but that was not my experience anywhere within the country. Here, they were very polite and usually very discreet. One wouldn't always notice their presence without having a chat and them quietly showing their weapons as evidence of their primary purpose for being there. The banking areas were the only areas where security officers were openly observed in full uniform and unconcealed weapons, as was the case in the hotel and the mall directly across the street. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All said, my three nights at the hotel were very pleasant and comfortable.
