Hotel Plaza del General is the new member of the only hotel district in Honduras..."The Plaza San Martin Hotel District" formed also by the Plaza San Martin and Plaza del Liberator Hotels. Opened to the public on August of 2000. Plaza del General is an exquisite hotel, characterized by its comfort, style and all the luxury that sets apart the finest hotels of the world. Every corner of the hotel is decorated with authentic national works of art, paintings, sculptures, and antiques and even historical artifacts of Mayan origin…our national pride. It gives the visitor the feeling of being in an art gallery! We are located in the Colonia Palmira in front of the San Martin Plaza, an area next to downtown where you can admire colonial style architecture next to the financial and business districts and all major shopping and recreation areas.

Deluxe Room
All deluxe rooms have separate living and dining areas. These rooms are equipped with a king size bed and offer the same variety of amenities as our standard rooms. All have a mountain/city view and are equipped with cable TV, dinning table, central A/C, balcony, Internet/data access ports, mini-bar, courtesy coffee, private bathrooms, alarm clock, emergency exit, smoke detector, hairdryer, safe deposit box, ironing board, bathroom amenities and non-smoking/smoking or handicap friendly rooms.
Standard Room
All standard rooms have mountain/city view and include one or two double beds. Each room is equipped with cable TV, dining table, central A/C, balcony, Internet/data access ports, mini-bar, courtesy coffee, private bathrooms, alarm clock, emergency exit, smoke detector, hairdryer, safe deposit box, ironing board, bathroom amenities and non-smoking/smoking or handicap friendly rooms.

Not what I expected

Online said they have an airport shuttle . That's the only reason I booked this hotel, they don't. I had to figure out a scary taxi ride there and back all alone as a young girl with no cash in Honduras. Also the only ATM is outside somewhere in a restaurant across the street.

disappointing

no pool, over priced food, tacky decor. For the very expensive room prices, other hotels had more to offer. Have to make another trip soon but will be staying elsewhere.

Hospitalable staff

Nice room. However, the advertised wet bar was empty. Bought drink and water to small fridge. Only one towel and hand towel was left in room some days.
