This was a last minute reservation due to the special holiday in Guatemala during Easter week were streets are very congested. The only down to all was that in the reservation said that they provide airport shuttle (not true) they will call you a taxi (affordable prices). Close to downtown with lots of amenities and city life.

You get what you pay for, I guess...

They offer a hotel for a surcharge which is something my boyfriend and I were looking for. $20 per person, each way?! We were just staying for the night and flying out in the am so this was not convienent it was a ripoff which I opted not to do. They provide the basics of what you need other than that, if you just need something very simple and basic and you don't need the shuttle, the hotel will suit you well.

Fantastic Anyone getaway

Locatiion, in the heart of the City, walk outside and everything you need is just a few steps away. Right across the street is a Bakery, up on the corner is Pollo, just like KFC here in USA. The room was small but who need a manson. Lots of hot water. Open the window the cool air fills the room, no need for AC. Rooms always cleaned, front desk has English speaker Senior, who is knowlegdeable of all things you ask. With two beds, an a single me, as comfort as can be. It is a big Hotel, can not tell by the price of a nights stay-cheap, can not beat the price, it's top in value for your money, I would book it again and again. Amenities, I would say try not to eat in the hotel or buy at the bar, unless, you have deep pockets, Go around the block, you will find the same things, much cheaper. Always, something going on down the street, just have to take a look and see for yourself, you will love this hotel and may like Guatamala just as well. Have fun and enjoy. Dewey

Great location, great food!

Finding a hotel in Guatemala's zone 1 that is comfortable and safe is difficult. The Hotel Panamerican has fairly simple, basic rooms, but the hotel feels very safe and the location is excellent if you want to be in zone 1. Moreover, the staff are incredibly cordial (they knew my name by the second day) and the food is some of the best in Guatemala City - even Guatemalans will tell you so.

More than meets the eye.

The only thing 2 star about this hotel was the location but the staff and the restaurant made up the difference quite nicely. Menu items were varied and the regional dish I tried (Guatemalan coated fish fillet) was excellent. The neighborhood is old and like many big cities has some major problems. We only stayed overnight in order to make our flight on Monday morning at 5AM. The wakeup call was prompt and the taxi was waiting at the front door.

Excellent location and price, it worked very good for me!

My experience was perfect because of the location, and the personnel administration's kindness & attention to my needs all the time. It was needed a special something but I can't complaint because it was according to the low good price, compared with last year hotel where I paid double. I enjoyed my stay. Actually I paid for two more nights. Of course there were -may be- three things not very good but it wasn't too bad.
