Very nice room for the price, lovely staff, and FREE SHUTTLE hourly to the airport. Only downside was pricey food with only medium-good cooking (e.g. steak tender but came medium-well when ordered medium-rare), and not the type of neighborhood
where we could have walked out and found good local food (only McDonald's and Pizza Hut visible). So, great choice for a restful, one-night transitional stay as long as you're not too food oriented.
the Barcelo was a perfect 4 star hotel. Overall we were very pleased, the food was very good, we did not get sick, that is always a good barometer, The outside of hotel was not as great as the inside but more than good enough. The service was
above good also. Overall we were quite happy with our stay
Prompt pickup at airport. Friendly staff who spoke English. Efficient Checkin & out. Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet....dining outside. Quite romantic.. Cabs available at the front. Would stay again.
If you're looking for a safe hotel located within minutes of Guatemala City's airport the Barcelo is a great choice. On top of the ample amenities this hotel becomes almost fortress-like with it's security after dark. All staff I encountered were
friendly, courteous and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the rooms large and quiet. My only (very minor) criticism is that the full week wifi purchase I opted for needed a new passcode created almost daily but a quick call or visit to the front desk always resolved the issue in a minute, no big deal. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Barcelo again.
Nice hotel, all the facilities are beautiful, lots of security, several dining options. Prices of food and drinks are very high, and we ate quesadillas were made with a sweet barbecue, to my taste were very bad. The staff is very serious and
hardly answer a question. If you go by the facilities and safety is a good option.
