What a fabulous way to end our lovely time in Greece. The hotel was beyond our expectations. First-rate room, gracious ... service, and an excellent meal in the main floor restaurant. (The 9th floor restaurant was closed.) We took the bus from downtown Athens and walked just steps to the hotel. We were rested and ready for the 10-hour flight home.

This hotel is at the Athens Airport. We had a very early flight the next day and it was easy just to walk across the street. ... The metro train is also right next to the hotel and very easy to use to go in to Athens. The airport is about a 30 to 40 minute taxi ride from the city and expensive.

Outstanding new facility . Right in Athens airport , perfect for early morning flights. It was immacaulate and quiet . ... Downside is that it was a good 30 minute cab ride from the center of Athens for sight seeing , but Metro is right across street and cabs are readily available . Cab ride will run you about 40 Euro each way .

We arrived in Athens at 9:30pm and were flying out the next morning at 8:40. This was perfect!!! We slept comfortably and ... enjoyed the huge luxurious bathrooms offered at this hotel...very hard to come by in Europe.

A quiet airport hotel!!

I wanted a hotel close to the airport and Sofitel is right at the airport, but the amazing part is that I did not hear any ... jet noise at all. The rooms were very modern and clean. There is food available 24/7 and it's also right next to the metro that puts you in downtown Athens in 40 min.

We chose Sofitel for the location, flying in late from Crete and leaving at 7am the next morning we didn't want to deal with ... travel to/from the airport. Being located in walking distance was extremely convenient, but then finding it to be so comfortable with many nice extra touches, we couldn't have enjoyed it more.

Best place to stay before takeoff

Enables us to take 5 a.m. flights home. Restaurant food was as good as I've had in NYC (osso bucco) and Greek islands (Greek ... salad). We took bus X95 from the airport to Syntagma Square (45 min) and same return. Sooo convenient, traffic being what it is in Athens. From Syntagma we took the subway to the Acropolis (one stop). How user friendly can it get? We stayed at the same hotel in 2006 and liked it then too.

If shopping for little boys, the metal figures in the first Plaka store near Acropolis is very expensive, and the little metal soldiers break in the suitcase. Pack them in your shoes in your suitcase or take them onboard with you.

So convenient and nice

We stayed at Sofitel Athens after spending two weeks in Greece before heading back home. It was the most comfortable bed we ... slept in the entire time and you can't beat the location. Our flight left early in the morning and required that we wake up at 4:00 AM. It was unbelievable that the restaurant was open at 4:00 for breakfast. And, just being able to grab our bags and walk across the street was unbeatable. I would recommend this location to anybody traveling through Athens.

After flying in from Cyprus early evening this was the perfect spot to relax and sleep in preparation for the next day's long ... haul to California. Buy some wine at duty free, order the cheese platter from room service, and lie back amid the comfy bed linens and dreamy pillows.

Great location. Excellent staff. Pretty good food (but pricey). But for the price, they could provide free wireless, or at ... the very least, not charge for internet service. It is a small price on their part for a big benefit for those of us traveling and dependent on the internet for communication. Mattress was rather soft and worn. Again, though, very professional and friendly staff.

We stayed for one night after visiting Greek Islands, before a flight the next day back to the US. The hotel was very clean, ... modern, and extremely convenient to the airport. The gym and pool are small, but handy.

This is the very best way to stay overnight in Athens so that you can catch a morning flight. So convenient, just walk over ... to the terminal!! Great, clean, comfortable, small but luxurious rooms.

Superior room, Perfect location. Pre-paid thru cheap tickets so it was all slick as glass. Checked in late (after 10 pm) ... and checked out early (6 am), all smooth. Didn't eat at restaurant, but open when we arrived and when we left.
