Tholos Resort
Seeing Santorini is best done by car. The walks to Fira from Tholos Resort are possible but uphill on the way back from town. The resort itself requires lots of stair-walking from the rooms to the pool and to to the road. The staff was very generous and friendly although not always knowledgeable about the details for sightseeing, directions to various parts of the island, maps, etc. Anyone with physical disabilities would find this a difficult place to stay.

Tholos Resort
TheTholos Resort was everything you described and more. The location could not be any more perfect. The rooms were bright airy with the best view of Santorini and the sea. The hotel price included breakfast served at your private balcony. The food was wonderful, breakfast, dinners and appetizers by the pool. A short walk from Santorini but worth every step. The staff was curtieous and friendly and helpful in scheduling tours of the surrounding areas. Will definitely recommend this resort to friends and will hopefully make a return trip.
