This family-run hotel offers 80 rooms in total spread over 2 floors. It is air-conditioned and has a lobby, 24-hour reception and check-out service, hotel safe, currency exchange facility, lift access, cafe, kiosk, mini-supermarket, a bar, games room, TV room, restaurant, Internet and WLAN access (both subject to fees), as well as a laundry service (subject to fees). Parking facilities are available to guests arriving by car. Younger guests are sure to enjoy the playground. The resort is the location of one of the biggest and best-organized beaches in Greece. The beach is sandy and comes with sun loungers and parasols. Guests may take advantage of the water and extreme sports on offer, as well as the water park with outdoor pool, poolside snack bar, sun loungers and parasols. Tennis, pool/snooker and an activity programme are also offers. Standard rooms feature double beds, bathroom with shower, direct dial telephone, a TV, radio, Internet access, kitchenette with fridge, individually-adjustable air conditioning (local charge) and heating, and either a balcony or terrace with views of the sea and mountains. The hotel offers parking facility. The hotel also offers billiards, lobby, parking facility, reception and mini market.

Area description
The hotel is situated on the outskirts of Faliraki providing the perfect setting for relaxation and an atmosphere of unhurried comfort. A short walk from the hotel will take you to the lively resort center and to one of the best golden sandy beaches on the island. This resort is considered one of the most cosmopolitan summer resorts in Rhodes. It is located just 12 km from the island's capital and is notable for its remarkable tourist infrastructure. Thousands of tourists visit here every year. Restaurants, bars, exciting nightlife, shopping opportunities and the bus station can all be found in the vicinity. Sight-seeing attractions in the area include the archaeological site in Sarandapihos. Located close to village Kalithies, it is believed to be part of the acropolis from archaic times. Other archaeological highlights include Erimokastro, located near the sea with ruins of the archaic wall, and the old monastery of Prophet Amos on a hill just outside Faliraki.

Nice, quiet hotel outside Faliraki

I stayed at Hotel Matina for 6 nights in early October. I had a single with two twin beds. The room was big enough for one and it included a nice balcony. The room was very clean and comfortable. Wifi was not the fastest in the room but it was free. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Faliraki, but it does not take more than 15 mins or so to walk to Faliraki center or the beach. I saw many guests rent a car or quad which would make things easier. I did a lot of walking during my stay but I did not mind. Hotel Matina is also near the bus line which you can take to Rhodes town or Lindos. I ate breakfast at the hotel only a few times. It was 5 euros and not worth it. Instead I would recommend getting a nice english breakfast from a place on the beach for the same price. Dinner was ok but nothing special. The staff was very helpful and friendly for my entire stay on Rhodes. While walking to Faliraki I was even offered a ride to Faliraki center to catch a taxi on my departure date which was nice. Overall Hotel Matina is a nice, inexpensive hotel. Nothing flashy, but well worth the money. It is in a nice central location if you wish to travel to Rhodes town or Lindos. As a side note DO NOT stay at hotel lymberia a few mins away. The employees and the owner especially are beyond rude, inhospitable and unpleasant.
